I’m fairly new to the world of vinyl dolls but I’ve been collecting resin bjds (and blythes) since 2016. As of now, I have one vinyl doll at home, an Imomo Miko. 

Lately, though, I’ve been really intrigued by Dollfie Dreams. Through a series of coincidences, I began looking at yahoo auctions for custom heads and I have decided that I have to have some! I went ahead and ordered some dream choice via proxy) so I could get the semi-white bodies before the season for that is over.

My plans are to have a boy for sure, so I got a DDboy and I also got an MDD asexual body for I’m not sure what gender head lol. For now I’ll be sitting on yahoo auctions until someone strikes my fancy. 

In the meantime, I’m going to start looking for clothes and accessories. I’ve been lurking here for a bit so I’m excited to finally make an account!

I've been involved in the hobby since I was in middle school in 2008 when I got a my first Obitsu doll, which I unfortunately no longer have. I took a break from vinyl anime dolls for a while and have collected both Pullips and resin BJDs in the past, but I recently rediscovered Smart Dolls and purchased my first one in February of 2025. I've gotten a second one since then, along with several Obitsu dolls, most of which are 1/6 but one is 1/3.

Even though I've technically been in the hobby for a while, I'm still pretty new to collecting vinyl anime dolls since it's been so long since I've had my first one. I'm hoping to learn lots of new tips and tricks thanks to this forum! I'm so glad a place like this exists. Thank you for reading my introduction.

Anyways, from what I've read everyone seems pretty nice and welcoming, which is really helpful since I'm gonna be a total noob for a while hehe

Also, I grew up after internet forums were a big thing, so I apologize for any mistakes since I'm new to this ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ 

I first started collecting pullips when I was a teenager and took a really long break, but now with better circumstances I’m happy to be collecting again! After more than a decade I am still in love with anime-styled dolls but leaning towards more realistic/adult-like figures.

I’m a 33 year old gamer. I play FFXIV and WoW mostly these days. I cosplay when I can. 

I'm Yuki! Older doll collector with an army of both Smartdolls and Monster High ghouls. My main collection of dolls are antique Japanese dolls and the vinyl bjd girls bridge the gap from old to new. Huge Attack on Titan fan, have been known to spin records and also dealing with bipolar disorder with limited success. It is a pleasure. 😊

I'm Ferrum, or Fer ("Fair") is also fine. I've been collecting both vinyl and resin dolls since uh... I have dyscalculia. Just about twenty years!

I had a DD Rin at one point, but let her go onto someone else to love her just as much. Sometimes I still kick myself a little, maybe I'll find another eventually...

So when I couldn't find another Rin or other Dollfie Dream I liked, I purchased THREE Smart Dolls this year instead. ⊂(◉‿◉)つ
2025 has been a pretty good year for me financially, actually... I understand I'm VERY lucky, and appreciate them and my life so much.

So far I have Kara, my Against All Odds, Haru, my Marvel, and Takumi, my Atom boy.

I thought I'd like the Semi-Real style more, but I'm really enjoying the classic anime style since getting Takumi!

I'm hoping some more green skintone dolls come back soon. I named and styled Kara after my own version of Supergirl, so I'd LOVE a version of Brainiac 5 to match with her. 💚

I have two dolls, a Volks MDD (Hana) and a cheaper UF 1/5 scale doll (Beki) I got to keep her company. They're both secondhand so poor Hana has some slight staining issues I've been gently trying to get rid of... to avoid clogging up my intro post with photos I will link to my bluesky side account dedicated to doll posting and Japanese practice found here, but I'm sure I'll be posting some photos on here soon when my new-doll-clothes holiday presents to myself arrive

I’ve been into BJDs for around 2-ish years now, but since im going to graduate hs soon (And hopefully be able to make more money) I wanna start investing into BJD/Vinyl Dolls more!! 

The initial plan was for me to create my OC, but due to all the complicated parts I wanted (Puyoo Kumakodoll, which now I might get an Imomodoll instead) I’ll leave it to when I have more hands-on experience! (although I do love him)

For now my first projects will probably be enstars character dolls as I get a feel for everything!! I’ll probably stick with DD/ DDB for them or go hybrid with Resinsoul bodies + DDH. Tips/advice are much appreciated, and I hope I enjoy my time here as I start a new journey for my hobbies ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪

-a mmd with a dollce head (i forget the sculpt)

-a obitsu angelphilia hybrid with a resin doll family H head

- a night lolita/ye luoli doll that is sadly in need of a new body cuz her foot broke off and got lost

I also have 10 or so resin and abs bjds

and about 100 playline dolls

Other than my parents I share this hobby with no one else as being a 39 yr old dude collecting dolls, who works at a factory, would expose me to endless jokes and ridicule, so I figured it'd be nice to connect with like minded individuals here. 

Hoping to learn more as I progress with my dolls and learn from all of you. I really appreciate it. 

I'm a big Sasara fan and have made it my mission to collect as much merch of her as I can, and her original dollfie was my holy grail, something I decided I would start saving towards once I had gotten most of the merch I wanted of her. Anddd then they went and announced a rerelease of her gothic dress version for the 20th anniversary of ToHeart2. I honestly couldn't believe it when I saw the announcement,, just a bit over a year since I decided I wanted to collect merch of her, and the thing I wanted the most was suddenly available to me. I just couldn't pass this opportunity and knew if I didnt pick her up now I'd never get her for a decent price ever again. The release on Saturday was so stressful I felt like I was gonna be sick lol constant error pages, forgetting to click my card details on the order page,, the card verification page going down twice while I was trying to pay for her, it was a nightmare but I somehow managed to snag her and her uniform too ! I'm so excited to get her I really can't wait, I'm constantly refreshing the order page for any update knowing damn well she's not gonna ship on a Sunday lol

I've already started looking for more clothes for her,, I may be getting my hands on her original swimsuit maid outfit that I love so much, I'm hoping it will fit her even with the updated body but hey if it doesn't it's another piece for my collection lol There's so many cute outfits it makes me want to get another doll just for them,, I'd like to make a custom one I think eventually but for now I'm just gonna love my Sasara with all my heart (when she gets here)!

I’m Schnee! I just recently came back into the hobby. Although I was previously mostly interested in resin dolls, I always looked at Dollfie dreams with interest ; I enjoyed looking at the cute “Collaboration“ Volks fullsets for sure! I always enjoyed their delicate craftsmanship and beauty.

However, due to DD’s high prices, I always thought those dolls were something I wouldn’t ever be able to afford, especially my grail, Snow Miku. She was way too expensive for me to justify spending so much on just one doll. 

Fast forward to today! After finally finishing something I worked on for a few years, I truly wanted to treat myself with a doll I always wanted. After I realised the yen value plummeted compared to my currency, I decided it was finally time to search for my grail. After finding how to buy something in Japan thanks to proxies, I was able to find her on Mercari! 

Now I just have to wait for her, and her bodysuit to arrive! I’m glad to have found this forum, otherwise she would have gotten worse stains, for sure, as I didn’t know vinyl doll can even get stained…

Hello! Ive been a doll collector my entire life. Collecting dolls means more to me than anything. From being my creative outlet to comfort. Im really excited to meet other people who feel as passionately! 

I've been the occasional lurker for several years now and finally gave in to the demon inside me that wants to venture beyond resin BJD.

I actually used to prefer DDs over BJD, and would stalk the Volks website as a kid (back when the US website actually had anything on it). I really wanted Mirai and Candy. Unfortunately I'm a bit late to come back to a lot of things like Azone, seeing as my taste is still in the street fashion scene and general aesthetic of the 00s. The customs I see now are so creative and fun though, and honestly MDD have the cutest outfits now!

I just bought an old Azone and that's my only step into vinyl at the moment. As for BJD, I have lost count of how many I have. 😅💀 I've been collecting them since 2016. But I love seeing what people do with their dolls, whether I would personally own them or not. I might as well stop lurking.

- One Smartdoll Pear

- Two Jun Planning Ais

- One Hujoo Nano Freya (missing her tail)

- Lots of Monster Highs (too many, honestly)

- Lots of blind-box BJDs

- and I have my first Tinyfox 1/6 on the way!

As you can see, a lot of my dolls are on the older side, lol.  I like to sew for my girlies, so expect photos!
