Mai started out just being a narrating character I created to stand in for me, but she quickly took a life of her own in the comic, and it wasn't long before I wanted to create a "figurine" of Mai in real life. This led to me discovering the doll hobby, and after testing the waters with a smaller 1/6 doll, I went all in late last year and created Mai in doll form.

It takes time to setup my photo stuff since it's all stored away, so it's more of a treat when I get to do it. I'll do more once I get some props that Mai needs for a convincing cooking scene.

Currently I have two, one is Sakashita Sakura who is a 1/6 Azone doll, you have probably seen her in my previous topic:

And the second doll I bought yesterday (2024/10/6) [YYYY/MM/DD] and she is my first bigger doll, her name is Suzune she is 45cm tall can you believe it !! waaaay bigger than Sakura O O I was suprised I still cannot believe how big she actually is haha here is a picture of both of them that I took yesterday:

I also bought her outfits and props of course but for that you will have to stick around and see for yourself 🙃

Right now I just have the beginnings of Terry, as well as Licot’s head. I’m planning on buying an AP I for Licot, but the recent tariffs on CN and HK parcels worries me about buying from FaithZ. However FaithZ usually buys extra dolls for after the preorder window closes, so I am hoping to buy Pink Drops Mieri around April.

She’s a Pink Drops Mikuru H-type body in Whitey, with the DDH-10 head in Semi-White. I’m slowly amassing AZO2 and other clothes for her. I have her wig on the way! And some shoes… socks… Here she is wearing Azone gym clothes.Here she is wearing Azone sukumizu. She now has H2 hip, but I accidentally bought tan 😭. I need to buy her a skin cover so she can wear dark clothes.

I’m thinking of buying her C legs and maybe a C lower torso as well, so she appears a little thinner.

Here's some photos of Pureneemo Advance Aika. I think she dates from 2007 and is *very* creaky, but her outfit is in decent condition.

I've only got one girl on this body type but I think it was designed so the lack of unsightly knee and elbow joints made them good display girls. The downside of course is that they're less poseable than the other Ex Cute or Flection body types.

Like more recent Azones, she doesn't come with many accessories. In fact the only accessory is her headwear:

I really like her boots, and they're in great condition given her age. By contrast my Mia witch from 2012's boots fell apart when I tried to put them on her, and I ended up having to find her some replacement boots on etsy.

As I mentioned earlier, her knees and elbows aren't jointed, so she's not nearly as poseable as my other Pureneemos. Her legs are really stiff too - and it's only today that they've finally loosened up enough to be able to move her legs.

I really like her turquoise thigh-high socks and this is initially what caught my eye in her Mandarake listing.

Oh, and she was only (!) 5000 Yen which was a pretty good price for what I believe might be a first generation Pureneemo.

One thing I don't like about the 50-02 head is that it's so damn tiny, really really small. It makes her look much more adult than the Fururu on the right, despite both being almost the same size (new cat is a bit taller than Fururu because her shoes have thicker soles).

Her tail's a bit thin, too (it's the tiny one pointing up, not Fururu's tail below on the right):

Currently all my photos will be taken on my iPhone 15. They should be okay but nothing compared to a dedicated camera of course, a standalone camera is something that can be pricy and require a lot of time and effort to understand and improve at so for now I will be using my phone which is simpler but who knows what the future awaits. I will also experiment a lot so you might see posts where there are lots of similar pictures but with different zooms, angles or photo modes.

My doll is a 1/6 scale Azone Ball Jointed Doll, her name is Sakashita Sakura and the version I bought is the school version. I am also very new to this niche hobby of doll collecting and doll photography (I got her this month after years of pondering whether to get one or not). I do have other clothes so you’ll be seeing her dressed in all kinds of different styles!!

All this pictures were taken at the 北向観音 鐘楼 temple around the Bessho Onsen, Ueda, Nagano. It was very pretty and calm, few people there. It has lots of beautiful temples with a very soothing atmosphere I really enjoyed it. The area as the name suggests also has lots of onsen (hot springs) where you can bath, I went to the Bessho Onsen Aizenkaku Aisome no Yu which was huuuge, it had indoors and outdoors baths. Overall a very relaxing experience )/10 just because it had almost nowhere to eat and it was hard to find a spot but that was probably on me because I went a bit late.

I got my first Dollfie Dream 6 years before my girl was born, where did the time go?

And I love them? They are such smooth posers, they are really fun. I love how squishy their midsections are.
