Kenchy Posted December 14, 2018 I'm seriously new to this hobby! I've just bought a smartdoll and she needs some clothes but I'm not sure what sizes will fit her. I've seen some other posts about this but they're using proficient doll terminology that I'm not used to like 1/6 and 1/3 xD If somebody could just give me an overall lesson about which dollfie clothes will fit my girl or even what other doll brand clothes will fit? RiverR Posted December 14, 2018 Congrats on your new girl Kenchy! Smartdolls are 1/3 scale, meaning that they are roughly 1/3 the size of a human being. But even within the 1/3 range there is variation in sizing and fit. Generally speaking, Dollfie Dream (DD) and Dollfie Dream Dynamite (DDdy) are similar in size to Smartdolls. The big thing to keep in mind is differences in bust size. From this chart ( ), it appears that DD M and L clothes will fit a Smartdoll S bust; clothes for DD L bust will fit Smartdoll M bust; and clothes for DDdy will fit a Smartdoll L bust.Hope that's helpful! Again, keep in mind the bust size the outfits are marked for. Of course, you can also search for Smartdoll and Dollfie Dream clothing on Etsy and Ebay for more options. Some additional bits: Look at this thread that shows the Smart Doll body compared to Dollfie Dream and Dollfie Dream Dynamite: viewtopic.php?f=51&t=10638 Most 3rd party clothing tends to be "SD" sizes i.e. Volks Super Dollfie resin dolls. SD13 will usually fit Dollfie Dream and Smart Doll but may be a bit large in certain areas. SD16 is more likely to be loose. For Volks clothing they'll list all the sizes it fits, by their definition, but the SD lines may be more loose. The DD waists are quite a bit smaller than any SD, but as you can see from that thread above the Smart Doll waist isn't so small. In the Volks Tenshi no Koromo line, be aware of a very limited amount of older ones that were made specifically for Dollfie Dream Dynamite (DDdy). Those are unlikely to fit the Smart Doll; you can see an example of one of those with the Gangster Set that is shown in the trhead I linked above. The other Volks lines, Designers Collection and La Personelle Collection Blue/Pink/Black label, are really SD sized but also supposed to fit DD. They won't generally fit as well as the Tenshi no Koromo line, but it depends on the outfit design. The SD13 or SDGr ("SD Grafitti") ones that list DD compatibility will usually be a better fit than the SD16 ones. She's wearing a Volks outfit that's specified as SDGR, while the right girl is wearing SD16. The actual Smart Doll clothing tends to be tailored very specifically for that body and so you may not get the same fit from most other things.
