If its available, and you are taking pictures in a static light (or a static baseline you want to enhance with tinted spotlights, and such), id suggest using the manual preset mode, where you take a full frame picture of something grey (or anything between black or white depending on the camera) in the base lighting you want to use, and go from there. -- it'll also depend on the camera will you have to put it in full manual mode for this to work though. -- (I also had to do a firmware update on my D3200 for this to be available)

 

some camera's (like my Nikon D3200) might have a nerfed ammount of white balance presets so you might not find a suitable preset mode no matter how you try.

Well, that gives me some stuff to go on and try in the future.  I have a Nikon D3400 so I'll have to look into the settings and see what's available.  Thanks for the advice!

Thank you! Sharing them and learning to do all the crafts I use to make my scenes has become one of my favorite parts of the hobby, I'm glad people enjoy them.   

June is here, and Disneyland is open!  Starting the 15th for you out of state folk but I'm so glad I can finally go back to the park, so I dressed Samus, Emma and Katie accordingly!  The Metroid is part of the display, but I couldn't get the framing right for a group pic as it's on the ground with two little metroids on it's head instead of ears.  Happy June everyone! 

July has come and the beach is calling!  I can't tell you how long it took to make that beach wall, because I've been working on it for weeks, but I'm so happy with the photos!  The surfboard was easy and the skateboards were time consuming, but that wall man.  But anyways, I digress.  As temps soar and the inland starts to cook it's time to hit the waves, the boardwalk or just relax in a cool ocean breeze!  I hope you all have a wonderful month and stay cool out there!  

 

 

 

 

August is here, and the middle of summer is going strong.  It's also National Picnic Month, so let's head to the parks and the mountains and enjoy that summer splendor!  

OK, I normally wouldn't double post like this, but I wanted to post the picture again to include Metroid shenanigans since my Obitsu stands for them came in finally!  Besides, what's a picnic without a few pests coming after your snacks!

Katie: No, I just got a new haircut and I'm not changing it for a disco look...

All three: YEP!!

No, seriously though, what about Harry Potter?  We can do that for back to Hogwarts day!

Halloween Part 1:  I had so many ideas for October and after I finally settled on one for it, I decided I still wanted to do some of the other ideas.  So here's a quick little photo barrage of my girls as some fun standard Halloween ghoulies.

These were so much fun to do as they're so different from my usual theming.  Halloween is always a good time!

Thank you for the compliments! I just got the new lights and was having fun playing with them, surprisingly good for only $30 on amazon for both of them.  

Halloween Part 2: When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls. Whenever candle lights flicker where the air is deathly still — that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight!

The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland has been my favorite since I was a kid.  I had so much fun doing these pictures!  Have a safe and spooky month everybody!

November has come, and I've come to notice there are three types of people when it comes to November, and Thanksgiving in general, so I decided to have each of my girls take on one of these perceptions.  

First, there's the ones who love the fall leaves, color changes and all the fun things there are to do in fall! 

 

Second are the type that love all the cozy delights.  Coffee and sweaters, relaxing with friends or family and enjoying the season!

 

 

and lastly, there are the types who would rather just skip the whole thing and move on convinced the Christmas season starts the day after Halloween!

 

 

Wherever you fall in the mix I hope you have a wonderful and safe Fall and safe travels if you're visiting family!  

Christmas Part 1.  Like October, I had a lot of ideas, so I'm going to do a few different shoots during the month.  My favorite idea is this first one, and it took a lot of planning and crafting and one of the worst photoshoots I've ever had!  But the pics came out alright, so I'm happy to share my girls as characters from The Nutcracker.

Christmas Part 2 and Part 3

Just two more quick shots of ideas I just had to make come true this season, not as in depth as Nutcracker costumes, but fun none the less.

First; The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear!  I wanted to build a street lamp for a different shoot, and realized that it would be great to make one for a caroling scene as well! 

 

Part 3

Christmas morning (or Eve night if that's when you do your gifts) is a special kind of feeling and decided I needed to have my girls do that too!  I found these mini stocking stuffer versions of some classics in the store and bang, it all came together!

It's a new year, but winter is still here.  I don't live where there's snow, but I do like the snow and wanted my girls to have a fun snow day... even if it's just inside still.  

Emma wants to start a snowball fight

I don't know exactly when Samus became the super extra girl of the group, it just happened so naturally... I really should just let it go.

This is such a great idea! I’m definitely inspired to dress up my gals for valentines next month now. This also makes me wanna invest some time in my posing! 

Awesome, you should!  Posing is totally worth your time investment, plus it just means you get to play with your dolls more while you learn.  It's win win!

Wow! The winter and Christmas photoshoots are lovely! The snowmen are so cute.

Thank you, I'm really happy with how the snowmen turned out. Especially with how much of a mess they were to make!  I'm still finding fake snow on the floor in my office. lol

Learning, learning, learning.  I got a new 50mm lens for Christmas and it's fun but I'm still learning! 

February has come and with it the lovely(or dreaded) Valentines Day.  From first loves to long loves I hope everyone has a wonderful month.

I've only done the school uniform look once, but I wanted to give the old Valentines Cookie gift trope from RomCom Anime a try with Katie.

Emma dressed festively and ready for a night out.

Samus (who has become so far removed from the actual character I just have to roll with the fact that she's Samus:30 year old wine Aunt) would rather stay in.

No Metroids this month, they tend to make dates awkward. 

March is here, and it brings early spring and green.  I wanted to do something fun and woodsy/mushroomy and I've been dying for a reason to use these two Volks outfits though I did split up the pieces and turn it into three.
