DD based clothing mannequin. (some nudity)

Originally I wasnt going to post this one here, but some things have happened that made me reconsider, as this thing didnt have time to go to its intended recipient.

While I was working on the last bits of Liberty I decided to start to fiddle with blender a bit in terms of 3D modeling.

And to reiterate, the last time I had used any kind of "abstract" 3D modelers was lightwave 4.0 ... but with some tutorials in terms of hardpoint modeling I started to slowly build half a torso mesh in the modeler based on a side and front photo of a standard DD body.

It took a few days to make as I was learning how to streamline the process, and all points apart from the spheres used for the boobs were more or less put in there by hand and joined together for the polygons... as the automated features seemed to just go berserk.

To even things out I subdivided the model once, and smoothed out the most egregious jagged edges from it before moving on to the next step:

This step being turning abstract into actual scale units. and I imported the model into the old discontinued CAD modeler ... slzed it appropreately, and while in theory I could have printed the model in one go on my self build non-wondermachine. I decided to slice and dice the model into eight pieces as to also give better print results that had zero overhangs:

Holes were made inside the model to pin the thing together as accurately as possible, and slots on the legs for the actial stand piece.

The first slice was compared to the actual model:

and the match was close enough to warrant to start printing the rest of the pieces, slowly building up the torso:

And after some time all parts were printed, glued together, and tested with some stock unmentionables for form accuracy:

After this, I started work on the stand, which in essance was just a ladder frame:

Of which the base was beefed up a bit:

the assembly so far was rather stable as it was oddly enough:

But I wanted some gaurantees as to it keeping itself vertical, so I decided to recycle a ikea stool that had gotten destroyed while performing shop duty:

Just drew a circle using a suitable round thing, rough cut with the bandsaw, and freehanded to a near round finish on a belt/disc sander combo.

I decided to use the router to give the edge some more detail, and perhaps hide the not perfect roundness, also while going through the sandpaper grits on the actual mannequin part as well.

I gave it two coats of warnish for some finesse:

As an initial test I put on one outfit that is quite splendid, but probably not a wise thing to keep on a vinyl dol for extended periods of time:

And the end variation was supposed to use the wine red classic volks kimono that I had accidentaly bought an extra, but for starters I wanted to see how the umemurasaki one looked in all its dark nature ... which I have wanted to use in photos but I know will only end in tears if used.

But thats all for this one I guess...

As always, your creative skills produce some really cool stuff.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

I love the idea to use this for showing off cool outfits! Especially since some Volks outfits are way to amazing to be stored away in a box. Love this!!
