baldylox Posted February 12, 2023 I'll start this by saying I already have 2 of the Flex bodies from Adyka for one of my tea girls and one of my milk girls so I knew what I was getting with this body. But this time I also got the new Flex Arms along with the body! So I figured I'd share pics in case people hadn't seen the full set up yet. Here's my blue Prowess I named Peanut. She got that name because she's a ghost girl who is an amalgamation of souls who used to boo and pester comedians and things at live plays and such. Basically anyone who was considered to be in The Peanut Gallery. 😄 So when she haunts people she doesn't do the traditional "BOO!" like most ghosts. She has the low and long drawn out style like a heckler would have..... "booooooooo." I've also never had anything go wrong with Volks vinyl and other silicone busts. Silicone and vinyl seem to work together very nicely from what I've seen over the years. Does it feel like there’s a joint underneath, or more like how Barbie used to be when you pose the leg there would be a popping/snapping feel Either way, definitely a gorgeous body ! These bodies have fully posable inner frames just like a regular Smartdoll but I'm pretty sure they are mostly metal, especially the lower half below the waist. I just looked on the Adyka website and there's no info on the makeup of them. But I'm pretty sure she told me they had metal frames inside except for the top part where you add the bust and head since that needed to be more flexible like the original Smartdoll Jeton joints. The bodies feel very sturdy and stable to me altho they do weigh a lot, easily twice what the regular vinyl ones do. And yep, the blue body is the first one from Adyka. As far as I know no one else is making them. She is also working on a new color too.... PINK. 😄 Smartdoll Draculaura? YES PLEASE!!! I've been eyeing the flex body for sometime, and wondering if I should get it over the default DD body. For me, I like having my girls in pretty lingerie and swimsuits so these silicone bodies work extremely well for that. But that's for indoor photo shoots only. I wouldn't take her outdoors much unless I had good control of the surroundings. the silicone is MUCH more delicate than the vinyl is so if you want to do things like take your girl out in the woods or to parks and other places where she could fall or get dirty or possibly injured, I'd say use the original vinyl obody as it is much sturdier and able to take some abuse before getting damaged. I kept Peanut's original body for this very reason. While she's at home she uses the full Adyka body. But If I want to take her anywhere other than a purely indoor doll meet, she goes back on her regular vinyl body. She does use her silicone bust at all times tho, those are usually protected by clothing of some sort. If you have the means then I'd buy an Adyka body for your girl and keep her default one for outings and trips. I'm really hoping to get the pink one to turn into a Draculaura. 😄 I really like that character and so does Adyka herself. That's the whole reason she's doing the pink doll. 😉 I'd like to see if the purple one matches up with Volks Icon Lilac too because if it does ( She told me it does but it lacks the iridescence ) then I'd get one to swap one of my Icon Lilacs onto. I never take my dolls outside, so silicone is fine 😄 I only have floating heads so that's why I was debating hard on which body types to get. That settles it, I'm gonna get both later down the road 😊. There's so many DD sized clothes too, so it'd be a shame to miss those out hahaha. Thank you so much for helping me choose! It's great to finally make a decision hahaha. I never got any of the Monster High dolls, but I love their designs and lived vicariously through Youtube doll collectors 😆. Draculara is so cute, and I'm excited to see Adyka's interpretation of her as a doll! Hope the lilac matches with Volks Icon!
