Is it ok to seal a doll head after stain removal?

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this is a stupid question 😅

I’m stain treating a head right now but I want to seal it it with MSC sometime soon so I can do faceups. Do I need to wait a certain amount of time after the stain treatment before I can seal the head? Or is it just fine to go ahead?

Thanks in advance!

I would always make sure it's removed, cleaned and dried personally. But, that will depend on the method of stain treatment. Magic Eraser? Solvent? Cream? DIY? You will just want to make sure that it's completely removed, washed and thoroughly dried first. Any residue or off-gassing under MSC is gonna end badly. And if you're putting your time and materials into something, you don't want to see it bubbling or peeling afterwards.

@Grover864 @Tierparkzone Thank you both so much! To clarify, I am using Dream Rescue. I think based on what you both said, I will give the head a break before I do anything so I can play it safe! 😄
