I wanted to ask you since you have a DDS and an AZO2, what do you think of them both is one better than the other or are they both good in different ways? I have an Azone Iris Collect on her way to me so I'm just curious, because my first choice was a DDS but she got sold out from under me.

Katya here is definitely my favorite, but most of that is personal attachment. DDs and AZO2s have slightly different bodies, with one edging out the other here or there in build quality, but on the whole I'd say it's a wash. Whether you like one or the other really just comes down to taste, and who looks better to you.

As a general rule I feel like the Volks bodies have slightly higher durability and somewhat more flexible posing, but Azone really shines with the wigs. IMO they're the best on the market, far better than the basic Volks ones, and they're comparatively difficult to get hold of outside of buying the doll - there's shops that carry the Azone Beshine wigs but the selection is typically fairly limited at a given time.

I personally also prefer the much simpler head joint over the Dollfie's weird spine thing, but it's got less range of motion. Azone joints are also likely to wear out or crack over time, in particular old ones that have been sitting in their box for ages often have cracked shoulders. BUT replacement joints/hands/etc are cheaper than Dollfie parts.

Volks definitely has nicer clothing than the Azone stuff though, which is generally somewhat cheap. But it's also, you know, cheap, so you can buy more outfits. Unfortunately the aftermarket for Azone isn't quite as good, though, so you're more dependent on official stuff. But they also make a pretty good variety, so I'll see something I want at least once a month.

The Azone doll I have coming to me supposedly doesn't have cracked shoulders and is considered "used" but I think she spent her time in her box mostly, I got her from the Mandarake website. Anyway, I appreciate the information, the clothes thing has me a little worried as I usually try to get most of my stuff off of Etsy, so we will see if I can find anything to fit her.

Toocuteclub on Etsy made the pastel outfit she's wearing in the second picture. Stuff designed for a DDS with small or medium bust tends to fit AZO2s if it's made of an elastic material, though it can be a bit baggy. Works great for casual outfits.

Love that second pic. The outfit and the mask are pretty cute on her.
