Holy Stains Batmant: Uni-Posca (Posca) paint markers?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had tried Posca paint markers for doing things like eyebrows and eyeliner? It says it is water-based acrylic paint... but it also says it stains/is permanent on 'porous surfaces'. Do you think several coats of MSC or ZM would be enough to keep it from staining/make it removable?

If no one knows I will try it on a head cap, but I figured why re-invent the wheel if someone has already tried them.

I'm terrible at steady painting with a brush and my test runs on paper show they leave a nice clean line.

ETA: Well, these turned out to be terrible. Even with five coats of MSC and leaving it on only for a day, it was stained to the point where I had to sand to get it off the headcap. Plus, the line was uneven because the paint would come out of the tips in big globs and dried kind of 'chunky.'

Guess these go on the 'do not use' list. Darn. I was hoping I'd found an acrylic alternative but it really seems like sticking with liquitex is the only way to go.

Thanks for the heads up! After sanding were you able to get the head cap clean again?

I sanded enough that I got a divot in the headcap and still hadn't removed all of the color. Very bad news markers.
