Small bobby pins?

Recommended Posts

Does any one know where to find ity bity bobby pins. My newest girl is almost complete, but I really want to put some victory rolls into her hair to complete the Rockabilly look. Unfortunately the dollar store and hair supply stores don't carry bobby pins small enough.

Most of what my google-fuu has brought up is how to curl your dolls hair with bobby pins and a sketchy website.

Wait, so are you trying to find the pins for her to wear, or are they just to hold curlers while you style her hair? I curled a doll's hair using straws and pipe cleaners before. But sadly so far I haven't managed to find any bobby pins that look in scale for dolls.

I'm looking for bobby pins to hold her hair in place. I don't think I'll be able to keep victory rolls in her hair any other way

So far the smallest I've found are about 1 1/2" long. They definitely look too big for display, like holding back hair on the side, but they maaaaaay be ok for hidden work like that. I got them from Sally Beauty. Amusingly they say they're made in Japan.

for making your own tiny doll beauty props like little bobby pins. She makes them out of fun wire and the tutorial starts at 1:35 in the film. Her vlog is great for all sorts of doll miniatures.

I've used a few of her tutorials. I'm not sure if it'll hold her hair, but it's worth a try. thanks!
