Various Customization Questions

Hello everybody! I've been compiling a bunch of stuff for my sealant resource, and with the arrival of two vinyl heads, I was wondering if you could all answer a few questions of mine?

1. What would you say should be the maximum amount of MSC layers on vinyl?

I hear that too many layers will cause the vinyl to crack when flexed.

I was planning 2 beginning layers>eyebrows/eyelashes/lips>1 layer>blushing>2 layers to finish. xD

2. What do you clean vinyl with?

I was thinking of using 70% isopropyl alcohol.

Thanks!

1. It's true too many layers can crack or cause a ghosting effect (turn whitish due to thickness or maybe a layer of air underneath). I usually do 1-2 heavy layers as a base, 2-3 lighter sealing layers during progress, and one final heavier layer mostly to hold pastels in place. I've run into ghosting with more than 6 layers, mostly for layering lots of dark/intense pastel color.

2. For washing off dirt, mild soap and warm water. To remove faceups, alcohol or brush cleaning solutions work, just clean them off thoroughly when you're done.

Thank you! Now by heavy layers do you mean you just spray longer?

Yup, for a heavy layer I will spray 2 coats, or apply the spray as long as possible. That means spraying until the face looks wet and shiny, but you must be careful not to over spray to the point that it starts to run and drip.
