Obitsu with Dollfie Dream Parts?

Recommended Posts

Lady Macaron

Hello- I was wondering if it was possible to put a Dollfie Dream Bust onto an Obitsu body?

I believe I once found a tutorial a long time ago detailing about the types of bust that could fit on an Obitsu torso. Any tutorial, link, or advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Yeah I am bidding o that to fix Gaara up so I might sell the bust later. bust are easy to mod since there soft vinyl.

the DDY busts fit ok on the Obitsu but you need to mod the shoulders of the frame sine there wider then the DDY. but DD busts are ok if you mod them like you would for a DD bust to fit on a DDY body there ruffle the same size at the joint as the obitsu.

Yes, it is possible. DD2 and DDDy busts will fit on the 55/60cm Obitsu body with little modification. Back in 2010 a number of my Obitsu MADh Vinyl girls had DD2 and DDDy busts (and a couple of DD2 torsos).

As mentioned, the Obitsu bodies have wider shoulders than the DD2 bodies. If you do a direct swap you'll find the shoulder joint balls do not nest properly in the shoulder of the DD2 bust vinyl. Trimming a little off of the Obitsu chest skeleton piece (the two tubes the shoulder joints push into) will allow the shoulder joints to seat in the vinyl better. My tool of choice for trimming skeleton plastic is a hobby back saw. (http://www.amazon.com/Xacto-X75300-Precision-Razor-Saw/dp/B00004Z2U4) You can use a plain hack saw blade, the more teeth per inch the better (32ish). You don't need the whole hack saw, just the blade. Wrap one end in cloth tape. (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C-mwZkvRXVA/UIRfjbavcjI/AAAAAAAAI_Y/uBR0XRNMxp8/s1600/waxtools07.jpg) Note the direction of the teeth. After your cuts are made, sand the cut edges with some fine sandpaper, about 250 grit, to get rid of any burrs.

My only other question at this time is if its possible to put MDD hands on an Obitsu 40cm or even transplant the male chest pieces onto an MDD body.

Thank you so much for the follow up though!

Yes, the MDD hands will fit on the Obitsu 40/50cm wrist parts. The 40 through 50cm Obitsu bodies use the same wrist parts. The MDD part that goes in the hand is a lot larger than the Obitsu part so you will have to stuff the hand with putty or something similar to keep it from falling off.

transplant the male chest pieces onto an MDD body.

The 40-50cm chests will fit but the 55/60cm chests are mostly too big in diameter to fit on the MDD practically.

I ask me if Obitsu head fit on DDIII body, or smart doll body?

You can get Obitsu heads to fit on DDIII bodies. The DDIII uses a similar head to neck attachment as the DD2. The modification to get an Obitsu head on should be the same.

The quickest method to attach an Obitsu head to a DD2 body is to:

1) Remove the DD2 arms, head, and then remove the bust vinyl from the body.

2) Remove the DD2 neck connection parts (everything above the chest skeleton part).

3) Insert the Obitsu neck piece into the DD2 neck vinyl (it's tight but it will fit).

4) Put the Obitsu head on the Obitsu neck piece as normal.

5) Reassemble the bust and other parts to the body.

With this attachment method the Obitsu neck piece is not attached to the DD skeleton. This will limit the head's ability to hold a tilted (up and down) pose. But how often do you tilt the head up or down? The head will still turn side to side as normal.

I do not have a DDIII body but from pictures the bust vinyls look the same size as the DD2 so the above procedure should work. The skin match colors are Volks Normal to Obitsu White Skin.

As for the Smart Doll, I do not have and have yet to see one in person. I'm pretty sure the Obitsu heads will physically fit the Smart Doll body, but I can not speak for the aesthetics of such a combination. Also I have no information on skin color match.

There not to small ? And the hybridation is possible ?

Most of the heads for the Obitsu 60cm bodies will look fine on the DD2 bodies. I have had both the Haruka (Obitsu) and the Gretel (Parabox/Obitsu) heads on the DD2 and DDDy bodies. The Gretel head is a little smaller than most DD heads but looks good scale-wise on the DD2 body. The Haruka is smaller than the Gretel and looks okay (your tastes will be the judge) on the DD2 body. The right wig can really help make the Haruka look larger. The Obitsu anime style heads designed for the 50cm bodies are really too small for the DD2 bodies.

The character in black and red is a Gretel on a DD2 body.
