WOW

Those are so cool!

Google didnt help much when I googled SSDR-01/02 - these would be so fun to have around.

Ive been holding off getting a Mirai and her beautiful blonde friend because the robot just sounds so exciting.

Oh man, that's cool! Look, there's also a Miku one!

There's a bunch more videos on RozenZebet's page too.

The legs are pretty thick though, and the arms are square, lol. The feet appear to need to be weighted down too, which makes sense (it's pretty impressive that they can actually WALK!) Danny's preserves the Dollfie Dream-like shape while still doing these things, which is pretty impressive too (and besides, the regular BJD style looks kinda weird moving around XD) I don't know whether his can stand, though. All the videos feature these dolls standing, I wonder whether they have enough articulation in the knees to sit? They only dance in all the videos. You CAN see them bending at the knee a bit though.

I tried googling bad apple dolls but nothing came up. Maybe because all the info would be in Japanese so "bad apple" wouldn't turn up anything? The most recent video is from March though, so it seems to be ongoing. I sure would love to know more about these!

(I'm also waiting until SmartDoll's robot version comes out before I get one :P I really want one to make a Chii out of one! :D I'm probably waiting a while after the initial release to see where his technology goes.)

Oh, I saw these cute robot dolls a long time ago, but I think there were only a couple videos then.

Is this what you're looking for?

I used the search term ドール型ロボット

Yeah, I was going to say these doll/robots have chunky robot bodies, while Danny's trying to get his smart dolls to have all the mechanical bits hidden in a very thin frame. Do I'd say these are more robots with doll heads and hands, while smart dolls will be dolls...

Also as far as I know these are custom, ooak robots while Choo is trying to release a commercial product. Plus they've been around for years and it seems like they're constantly improved, I don't think Choo has put nearly as much work in his so far and things like that simply take time to develop.

There's more info about them on his website (linked on his youtube channel) but it's all in japanese, so...
