Closest thing to a SD16 Body

I'm thinking of getting a doll that is as close as possible to a sd16 size doll in terms of body measurements. Since SD16s are hard to get, and very expensive, what alternatives are available? Is the Crobidoll M-Line one of the closest i terms of body measurements? thx.

I'm not sure if it's the case for SD-size girls, but some of the other sizes have comparison charts that have been compiled over the years which include measurements for most major BJD brands. You just need to dig around on the forum to find it

Infiniti Doll used to have a really lovely girl in a similar size, but due to a lawsuit by Luts they are no longer selling them. Maybe you can find a second hand body, though.

Thanks Jadepixel. I have looked around at measurement charts on DOA. I don't have an account, but I have looked at the threads. Specifically I am looking for a doll that matches the SD16's measurements at:

 

shoulder width: 13cm

bust: 27cm

hip: 26.5cm

-also looking for a doll with SD16 heel feet with no ankle joint.

 

These measurements are actually kind of awkward (broad shoulders) so I find that most doll brands that make a doll with similar height, have different measurements at at shoulders and bust.

 

I'll keep looking or maybe I will hold out and hope that Volks releases another SD16 on lottery. The closest doll I found so far to the SD16 measurements is the Crobidoll M-Line. The only difference is the shoulder width is 12cm. Also they only come in white skin which looks a bit unnatural.

If you're in the USA, keep an eye on the new Volks USA online FCS. They offered SD16 girls via online FCS late last year. I imagine it'll only be a matter of time until they offer them again.

 

In terms of bodies that are similar in size to the SD16, it's not really very similar, especially in the legs, but I've had some luck with dressing my Dollmore Model Doll in official Volks SD16 clothes.

 

 

Shoulder-wise, I might have gotten lucky since shoulders aren't a concern with that dress.

 

Dollmore Model Dolls have long, long, long legs, too.

I'd imagine the larger Iplehouse dolls wouldn't really compare to Volks's SD16. I have a very difficult time finding clothes for my EID that aren't Iplehouse's own clothes for the EID body. You might have a bit more luck with the SID, but Iplehouse's torsos tend to be big on all of their dolls, even before you factor in the breasts.

When it comes to the Volks SD16 the body is pretty out there imo. I've got limited time cause I need to go to work, so I may post again later, but I'll give you what I can think of right now.

 

But I do know of a body that may be somethin' along the lines of what you want.

Angell-Studio created a body not too long ago: the 62cm Body with high-heeled feet.

You won't find this body on DoA because it is classified as off-topic due to the lack of ankle joints. (As youc can see here: http://www.angell-studio.com/en/?product-2470.html)

So far it isn't sold separately from fullsets either, but if you message AS or just wait it out I'm sure it will be soon enough.

The measurements won't meet what you exactly want though. I think bust/waist sort of match but the Shoulders are 12cm I think? You already mentioned the other body I was gonna say. (Crobi M-line)

 

And just to back up what Gamma Ray said, no, you really can't look to IH for a similar body type. Is a very different body type from the SD16 other then the curviness.

After a bit of looking around, the Sadol Honey63 body is pretty close as well. It has the broader shoulders, claimed to be 14.5cm but doesn't really look much wider than the SD16.
