My new Iplehouse doll

Recommended Posts

Bubbles

I just received by Olivia head on a SID body, peach gold skin. She looks nice but I am a disappointed with with the bad seams the doll had. After looking it on on the web, it seems like a common problem? I guess I got spoiled since my first and only other resin doll, a Chinese made doll from Doll-Love had almost no visible seams kind of like a DD.

Here are some pics of her. Coincidentally, this outfit hides all of her seams. Powered by twintails!

Here is a pic of the the leg seam. The neck had similarly terrible seams.

Congratulations! Wow that outfit is rockin'.

Yeah..some companies don't sand the seams..personally it don't bother me unless it's going to be very visible (like on the side of the neck). You can remove them fairly simply with a bit of time and elbow grease though. Just an exacto-knife and some fine grade sand paper.

Even with seams, she's a lovely girl!

For resin that is darker than the usual array of pale dolls, I wouldn't recommend sanding-- you end up with lighter spots. I think that gently shaving just the seams and maybe lightly buffing just the seams without touching the resin around it would be a better idea. She's very gorgeous! I love that resin color too. It's just a pain to sand resin that is more pigmented than the typical never-seen-the-sunlight-porcelain-vampire-skin-tones of BJD's.

Congrats, Bubbles! Your girl is amazingly beautiful

It's kind of a bummer about the seams, but you might find yourself getting used to them. They became a part of my Iplehouse dolls. They wouldn't seem the same without the seams.

Thanks for the comments. I will probably just get used to the seams since they are considered normal. Overall I like her very much. She is very shapely and makes my DDdy's look very slim.

I hope Iplehouse comes out with some more fantasy costumes, maybe a pirate costume for SID.
