Clannad - Nagisa

The last time I posted in this sub forum was for a custom Kanon girl. I had planned on using my Mikuru, but I sold Mikuru sometime ago. Well, I am getting Mikuru again and I have been envisioning her as Nagisa!

 

Here's what's up so far:

 

Character Planned: Nagisa Furukawa

Sculpt: Mikuru Asahina

Body: DDS M-bust

Outfit: Clannad set from Volks

Customizations planned:

New faceup for Mikuru. Can't seem to find a faceup artist, so I will continue on practicing until I'm comfortable enough with removing hers.

New Eyes: Hopefully WDS Type B in orange 24 MM @_@

New Wig: Need to start looking. As of right now, this is biggest step. Hopefully a wig thick enough to accommodate the double ahoge

Hair clips Well I am a bit stumped on making such tiny clips. Would anyone be able to show me photos of the Mirai clip? I can 3D print clips, but I am unsure on the closure aspect. Any suggestions?

 

This is a photo of my old Mikuru. I feel like she's a really great sculpt for the Clannad style. Tiny, high set mouth, super big 24 MM eyes, and pointed chin.

Bawwww thank you so much :3!!! I am really excited to build her up as Nagisa!! I had been on the hunt for the outfit and a very kind member of this forum messaged me that one popped up on Mandarake. I've seen one for sale here as well. The outfit minus the shoes was around $80. I'm not sure if the outfit originally came with shoes

At least old volks wigs had enough spare hair to make the twin ahoge's:

 

3-minute rush job done to a (i think now discontinued) volks back flip wig.

Sewed in some thread to pull up the strands a bit more prominantly, just didnt get the other pulled enough, since it was hard to judge without a head in the wig.

as for the hair clip, Since its more or less the two red lines, a slightly low-tech solution, but maybe twist up a piece from a plastic covered paper clip, or solid core electronics wire in the proper color.?

 

And the outfit does not come with shoes (personally used Haruhi defaults)

I don't know what kind of clip Nagisa has, but the Mirai's hair clip is attached with magnets. One on the clip and one inside the head. I think that kind of magnet is called neodymium magnet. They have glossy surface and are amazingly stong compared to size.

finnleo thank you so much for the contribution! Your Mariko is sooo sooo cute as Nagisa and the wig is perfect. The thread wrapping technique is a great idea as evident by your wig. I did that to my Nagisa cosplay wig and it really helped keep them up. Going to utilize that technique for the doll wig. The paper clip idea is a really good idea. Or even bend wire into teeny paper clips and and slip the hair where the paper would go!

Thank you for letting me know about the Mirai clips! That sounds more complex than I imagined Haha. But magnets could be a possibility.
