SMART DOLL: Mirai Suenaga

Recommended Posts

moenia

Hello everyone,

I recently ordered Mirai, she should arrive some time this week or the beginning of next week. My question is, is she like a Dollfie in terms of body? I've heard its quite different. Could someone elaborate on that? I ordered her cute school uniform as well (just cause).^^

Smartdolls are similar in size to Dollfie Dreams. They can easily share clothing and wigs.

Baldylox made a nice comparison of the difference between Smartdolls and Dollfies in this thread.

I have a Smartdoll Mirai and a Rise on a DDII body. Mirai has better posability in her arms and hands compared to the DDII body. She is an absolute joy to pose and I can never get enough of playing with her.

Changing Dollfie hands is a lot easier than changing Smartdoll hands. With Smartdolls, the hands are very tight. It's recommended to use a hairdryer to loosen the hand before removing them. I used to remove them like I did with Dollfie hands : by wiggling the hand left and right 'til it slides off. However, after recently having snapped one of Mirai's wrist joints, I no longer do that. I wish there was an easier way to remove Smartdoll hands.

Living at my place: Rise (DD Rise Kujikawa), Chie (Smart Doll Mirai) and Aisha (Smart Doll Kurenai)

Aesthetics aside, should it not be possible to carve the openings a little larger on Smart Doll hands as well?

I have had to do that with almost all hand parts for my DD.

Yup, I changed Mirai's hands... and one of them will just not loosen up and come out. I was a bit nervous in pulling too hard so I left it on for now. I still think Smart Dolls are incredibly stiff in comparison to the DD body. Somehow it makes me uneasy, I feel I'll break her-- just have to loosen those joints with time.
