Yenna's face ups

I thought I'd start a thread for my face ups to keep track of them and to see if I've made any progress. Not posting the very first ones because they were horrible and I was still experimenting with materials.

 

In the end I've noticed that the easiest stuff for me to work with are the same tools and materials I use for my resin dolls: pastels, brushes, gloss & MSC. I've just had to alter the process to suit the style of DDs better. I'm still a newbie with vinyl painting.

 

So, here we go, my recent face ups first and then I'll post more as I do more. The oldest ones are from last year and start from my 3rd (or so) DD face up.

Thank you, everyone. I'm still finding my way with DD face ups as they're a lot different from resin BJDs, but I hope to get better eventually. At least they're starting to come more naturally without needing a gazillion reference images.

Sorry about the super late reply. They're White Dolly Story eyes. The same style as the brown ones on the DDH07, but I can't remember what type they are off the bat.

For the umpteenth time my own DDH09 and I finally think I found the look I wanted. :3 (DDH09s are really difficult for me to paint because the sculpted eyelid is in an awkward place)

Really nice! I remember viewing your blog back when I was looking for resin doll faceups. I like your work  They all look so lively and focused.
