Tokyo Otaku Mode experience?

Does anyone here have any experience with ordering from Tokyo Otaku Mode?

 

I have heard about it before, but they are fairly new to me.

I'm still looking to buy Hatsune Miku and I found out they sell Dollfie Dreams for pretty good prices. Since it's a store in Japan, they are not overpriced, the site only displays in Dollar though.

First time customers get free shipping too.

Weird thing is, they don't ship to Japan. I wish they could, since I'm going to Japan this summer.

They also don't mark packages as a gift or undervalue, this would've been handy, but is against the law.

I'm thinking of ordering from here some time, not sure if it will be a DD directly or anime figures.

Unfortunately I'm too late with ordering DD Miku, only 8 days ago they had a promotion where they gave $100+ TOM points credit for Hatsune Miku items, that would make a great extra outfit for cheap, I missed it.

I can vouch for them! I bought some mini-plushies from this a few months back, and they were wonderful. One of my plushies arrived damaged and they refunded me immediately, no questions asked, and gave me extra TOM points for my trouble.

They're awesome! They've always had great customer experience, shipping options, safe packaging, authentic products, and prompt delivery times.

It seems like they don't have a physical store, would've been nice.

Is there any way to make special requests for your order?

Thirding that TOM is great. I don't think you can buy the Dollfie Dreams unless you're in Japan ? That was the case with a MOMO they had a while back. You'll have to check the description of the items you're buying to see if your country is on the restricted list.(EDIT: I just checked on this and you'll have to check the specific restrictions, looks like there are a lot of things they can't ship to Japan either)

 

I also don't know if they're like Ami Ami and will ship to you anyways.

I've only ordered from Tokyo Otaku Mode twice, but from those two experiences, I'd say they're a good service. They ship fast, their prices are great, and they have excellent packaging. One order was a bunch of artbooks and they wrapped the books in plastic and used paper around it so that the books were protected on all sides of the box. I'd definitely recommend them.

Actually for Dollfie Dreams they don't ship them to Japan, no United States either and several countries. I'm from Europe, so they ship to all countries there.

I don't exactly know why they don't ship certain things to Japan, it says because of copyright and restrictions.

Possibly they don't sell Dollfie to countries where Volks has stores?

Unlike Manadarke or Jungle they are selling new goods, so they have to take care of distribution rights. Volks does not give away these rights for Japan and North America.

Does anyone have any experience with preordering DDs from TOM?

Otaku Mode is great. I didn’t know they sold volks stuff.

 

They like to send thank you postcards around the holidays, if you’re a customer.

I’ve never preordered a DD, but I do have a scale figure on preorder. Since it’s a third party seller, the release dates get pushed back a lot. Even when everyone else in the world already has the item you preordered. Probably supply/demand/ logistics complications.

 

Have the Kagamine Rin 1/7 figure preordered, I preordered it last August. It was supposed to come out September. Also idk if they still ship with DHL, but they’re a pain in the ass, tbh.
