Biscotti and Mariko Decisions decisions...

As you guys both now know the lottery is by this week and I already decided to go for them same time, but for the past week I've been contemplating since and closer and closer each day to the event I might not even join this event. First of all, I like Biscotti so much, she's one of the first DDS that really has a warm face even though there's a slight similarity with her face sculpt with Miu I try to overlook it, but also the new sculpt DDH-06 can also be modified with her closely enough!

 

As for Mariko sensei yes she has the L bust and first ever white DDS body but its face sculpt resemblance with Volks character Yukino, cmon srsly? I think volks just became to busy with the last saber pre-orders and just try to re-edit existing face sculpts and put it on order.

 

Still!! I want to bite on this lottery and try my luck (>_<) because I'm also a collector, and for me, looks like there's not a lot of interest here~ and people might not join the bandwagon and maybe~ just maybe!

the aftermarket will go to the roof!! but...

but! lets not jump into conclusions.. just like I said the 2 face sculpts of the 2 character designs right now have a very similar sculpts with the other said models. maybe if its like Yuki or Sasara Godly Thunderpants Dollfie face, Face sulpts maybe theres a chance on the after market mark ups, but this time around I dont think so..

 

What do you guys thinks? just a simple musing and speculation of a bystander..

 

Will you guys go for it? I might bite the bullet on another set purchase reason I want to hear some fellow members opinion here~

Me personally? I buy girls I'm interested in.

 

I've never bought a DD girl thinking about how much she might be worth later on. I buy them with the intent of keeping them (even if they don't work out, when I ordered them, I *thought* they would fit in)

 

Mainly because I just don't have enough money to buy them and take the gamble that they *might* be worth more... because I actually want DD girls, and Volks releases them too regularly for me to spend money on ones I don't actually want.

I prefer Mariko, but then, I'm a huge fan of the HDD03/Yukino sculpt. I'd love to get her, but I want my first DD to be a full size one.

That's how I'm planning to go at it as well.

 

I don't want one just for the sake of having one, I want one I know I will love.

As I have always said, quality over quantity.

 

 

On subject, I think Mariko and Millhiore are both very cute, but not for me.

I'm just hoping for a Rena Ryuguu!

I don't base, my dolls on what thier worth might be later...I couldn't care less. I want dolls that I like and that will fit in with my family. For this Dolpa I can only afford to buy one and that will be Mariko. She is so adorable. Biscotti is cute too but Mariko is more my cup of tea. I am also going to be trying to snatch up some of the regualr outfits on YJ! I love all of them!!! I say go for whatever doll you like and don't worry about the after price.

I been having dilemmas as well of who do I wanna pick, not for Mariko and Biscotti but over other dollfies I really like >.< If i go with a other Dollfie I can get it right now but i might regret not getting Mariko ALOT. If I get Mariko I have to wait 4 months to get her which is a big drag to me since I always have to wait for everything, I mean it wouldn't be so bad if it was like the usual 3 months. But this time its 4 >.< I guess too bad though I gotta be happy with other owner pics til I can get her....

 

Also IMO Yeah, Mariko has a bit of a similarity to Yukino its not the same (Yukino eyes aren't the same they are father apart also more tilted, if you look on Mariko her eyes are painted the look tilted, her chin isn't the same her chin is more pointy than Mariko, completely different sculpted mouth and longer face in general) I really think some people are taking that idea a little too far. Most dollfies have some other dollfie that they are similar to, doesn't mean that they just added to the sculpt.

Me too~ Usually I think about what look do I want my next Dollfie to have like next I would a completely different expression from the 2 girls I already have ^_^

Even when I do sell my DD I go with what ever I bought them for~ Not some crazy price just cause that the After Market value =_='....

Mariko is a full size dollfie I mean the height between DDS and normal DD isn't a lot and they can wear the same size clothes (and personally i perfer the look of their body over reg DD2/3).

I just have my heart set on the DD. I want her to be the full height of 58cm, to go with my taller resin boys.

 

Edit: But that said... Mariko's fullset is awfully cuuuuute!!

I'm gonna try for Mariko in the International Lottery, because I think shes lovely and I really want her! I agree with the comments that advise against buying based on the aftermarket value. If you don't chime with a girl then even if she's a future Saber, why add that extra hassle and wait when the doll that has less market appeal has stolen your heart?

Thanks for the quick responses definitely it helped me made my decision, especially the post regarding the face sculpt of mariko/yukino difference.. good research! Still as for me I can't say the aftermarket price is not important it is still a factor. Yes, when choosing a doll I choose that really warms up to me personally but the price I would really count to a certain factor, lets say you have an Amaha Miu and the price went 700- to mere jump of 2000$ wouldn't you be happy for your doll as well??

I totally agree with LittleBearries.

Morever, looking at aftermarket price is not a good idea in my opinion.

You never know how prices will be when you will decide to sell. Sure it can go up but also go down...

I try to buy a doll only when I feel she HAS to go into my family. For me, the 2 new dolls are cute, but I don't "need" them. So I will just pass and let more chances to people who really want them.

Just my opinion

Mariko has pretty lips. I wish we could see more pictures of her in different cosplay outfits, since that is her favorite activity.
