DD Airi Sena

This might be my next project. I really love Airi and want to create a custom DD of her.

That looks like Miu's uniform, they must be classmates.

 

If you get a heat-resisting wig, you can style the arched bangs yourself. And the ponytails you can do easily, or get clip-on hair pieces from Leeke or Miruya.

The weird thing about the Leeke hair pieces is that you can see a "serged seam" running through the middle of them where the hair is sewn together. It's not visible on most of their stock photos but it's visible here -

so it may be something you have to work around when you style it.

 

A low temp curling iron, a bit of water wax to style, and then a touch of hairspray to make it stay put and you'll be good.

From what I can tell it's the right shape and length, you would just have to style the bangs with a bit of heat to get the "peaks."

Yep, Airi and Miu goes to the same school but Miu is one year older. XD

Thanks for the tip with the hair clips Jade. I have some pieces from Leekeworld but have to check if they have that seam. I wonder if I can just gather the hair, but that might show the wigcap. Do Coolcat ever restock their wigs?

Maya's wig shows these seams a LOT - Archangeli has seen them! Look at her left twintail! ;_;

 

Awwww! Maya looks so cute there! I think it's because her twintail issue is bugging her and she looks a little sad but a little miffed at the same time.

I went over to Miruya to grab Airi's wig. This one:

 

 

The colour is a bit darker than I would like but still very beautiful.

Also, the shipping fee for EMS was very cheap and the service was very friendly. ^^

 

Now, lets just hope the quality of their pigtail is better than Leekeworld's. I have some hair styling to do XD

Sena coming along slowly. Her wig could still use a bit of work. I am still trying to figure out how to get those little curls into her pigtails.

The only thing I can think of is to roll the pigtails tightly around a rod and leave it like that for a few days.

 

The tiny blue foam rollers in this might work.

Oooo those are really cute

I would buy the set but I am going to try rolling it around a pencil first, or maybe a chopstick.

T^T sadly the curls are too small for a normal curling iron. I will need a 1cm curler or something

Oh well~ If it is heat resist you can heat the hair with a straightener while it around the chopstick. I should mold to the chop stick making a curl. ^___^ I can maybe help you with making the "cat ear" like how I have on my Ryoko wig-

I will probably attempt the small curls but never the "cat ears." I am super scared to ruin the wig and never being able to get the crease out of it. BTW Motoko, your Akira sale is so tempting

She's gorgeous!

Really cute! I feel like she really has the essence of the character.

 

I've done really tiny curls in wigs by wrapping them in tiny foam rollers, soaking the wig in hot water, and then letting it air-dry. It's worked on non-heat-resistant wigs without damaging them.
