With all the new Sailor Moon Characters out, I'm very happy to see this continued.

I’m afraid I’ve had no energy for doll photos for awhile.

did Usagi-chan sell her socks to afford the stylish new haircut???

No, I just didn’t put them on her. I thought about pulling her Sailor Moon wig out, but the box it’s in is under too much stuff.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction.

I have so many dolls that they have formed their own country.

Awesome to see your crew back in action! 😆

Giving everyone their own font for the speech bubbles is a nice idea, but at the resolution you posted the images, they can be a little hard to read at times. Did you add the text and then resize or the other way round?

That's an interesting point; I set up everything in photoshop, and then export .jpg from Lightroom. I can see how exporting the photo and then adding text could make the text clearer, but both Flickr and the forum will still resize things based on image resolution.

Yes, but a higher base resolution would at lest display the full size image after a click, making it easier to read then.

Based on my experiences with photo stories, I used to edit speech bubbles at full res, but found that (when also cropping the photos) it was very tricky to keep a consistent font size between the images. That's the main reason why for more recent stuff I'm doing text edits at target resolution, but it also helps you identify visibility issues immediately.

For 1536x1024 images I usually use 32px base font size. (When I did edits on the original 18Mpix photos I'd use around 130px to 150px font size.) - You don't have to necessarily go as big relative to the image size, but I found that gives a nice balance between readable text size (even if the forum scales it down further) and the space it's taking up.

FYI.

I started my photo story journey back in the days when modems and VGA resolutions were still common, so my posted images for MADh Vinyl and Kizuna and Chitose are relatively small to facilitate the slower download speeds of the day.

These days K&C is shot at 2272 X 1704. These images are imported into a template (600 X 800, 300dpi, 24 bit RGB) in my photo editor (Corel PhotoPaint) and resized as needed. I have a sheet of "stock" speech bubbles to choose from to import into the template. I do edit the bubbles from time to time as needed. The text in the bubbles is mostly 6pt Technical. All the assembly of the various elements is done at the lower 600 X 800 resolution.

That reminds me, I confused pt and px in my post above... 🤪
I'm in fact using the given font sizes in "px" (which relates to the size of the image on screen) and not in "pt" (which relates to the size of the image in print). - It's fixed now.

At 300dpi, 6pt should be around 25px. - Turns out we both use the same font size in relation to image height for our stories. 😆
