Guest Posted July 14, 2020 (edited) Hi everyone! This post is about Things I hope Volks does for Dollfie Dream. You might agree, You might not. So Let's Go! 10. Shitennou Dolls I hope Volks makes the Shitennou from Sailor Moon. These dolls would be freaking cute and great to put with the Sailor Senshi. (They dated before the Moon Kingdom fell.) 9. Dynamite Busts The DDdy Busts makes them unique. I feel that maybe they could be just a tiny bit smaller. 8. Dollfie Dream Shop in the USA "But they already do!" No, I mean like a Doll Point. With D'COORD and Dream Choice and all that. 7. Exclusive heads and skin colors generally available I wish for DDH-11 - DDH-21 to be available on their website, Including Tan Skinned Bodies and Heads. 6. Painted DDH-01 - DDH-10 Heads They had these in 2010 but got rid of them. I think they should have pre-painted heads still. 5. Pokemon Dollfie Dreams I kinda like Pokemon. I wish they would come out with Ash, and any other Pokemon trainers as Dollfie Dreams. THAT WOULD BE SO CUTE!!!! 4. Dollfie Dream Tall I wish wish wish Volks would make a tall version. Like 24 inches. How would they make Sailor Uranus taller than Sailor Jupiter? (She's taller) 3. Remake Old Models YES YES YES!! I hope they remake dolls such as Older Standard Models, Character Models (Femi, Cheryl, etc.), Original Mirai and Candy (As DDf3), After School Akihabara Girls. 2. MDD/DDP Versions of Standard Models They did this with Mirai and Candy in like 2007. They should do it with Aoi, Yukino, Towa, Karin, Miko, Mayu etc. KAWAII! KAWAII! KAWAII! 1. MAKE COCOA/BLACK DOLLS Volks needs to make African American Dolls. Tan Skin used to be named Brown, So maybe they might do it!!!!! Black Dolls would look so pretty as Dollfie Dreams. Smart Doll has them. Volks should make them too!!!! Comment in the Comment section (This sounds like Youtube vid) about which you like most! These are just my Top 10 ideas for Dollfie Dream Dolls Hope you Liked this! Kitty Hugs! KMM Edited July 15, 2020 by Guest
Conuresans Posted July 14, 2020 Some of these most would agree would be beneficial to the company (i.e. A Doll Point-esque location in the US, more skin tone variety as honestly tan is more like... sunkissed?) but I'm sure most of them have their reasonings- For example, the Pokemon Dollfies would require the trademark which from my perspective seems to be somewhat difficult to obtain as there's a lack of common merchandise trademarked charas have like Sheryl or Miku with some exceptions like the idolm@ster girls or Sailor Moon (...Still think they should've gone the figma route instead of SH Figuarts but eh what happens happens.). Similar train of thought with the remaking of old character models as they only did their first one to my knowledge this past year with the Miku Reboot. Also, regarding #4, the regular line of DDs are already 23.6inches (60cm)? So the idea of taller sounds interesting but I feel like if they went that way, it would be more in the range of 65cm as that's the tallest they've gone thus far. As for what I'd like to see, more skin range would be lovely in addition to more of the online sales going in the same fashion as they did with Jupiter + streetwear as I love what they put out in the most recent Volks News. Maybe also more SD-esque releases if possible as I love the look of resin dolls but... not restringing. Props would also be lovely too. Guest Posted July 14, 2020 With the Character Model Reboot. They could only do certain ones as Aoi and Yukino have a 1st AND 2nd version and a 3rd version would be meh. Same with the After School Akihabara Girls (ASAG). For #4 I though DDs were 22 inches. Welp I dumb cuz they're not. And 65cm Dollfie Dream wouldn't be bad. Also What does SD-esque mean? Like Semi-Realistic? Similar to those Smart Dolls? And yes no restringing. I had to put elastic in my DD cuz her torso part broke and THAT was a hassle. I don't want them to go back to stringing. I see what you mean about Pokemon Dollfies and I hadn't thought about that.

Correct re: reboots. SD-esque was in reference to something along the lines of VOLKS' Super Dollfie lineup, examples being Dollfie Icon and somewhat with the Nier pre-order project. Apologies for the confusion. Home: Melt (DDH-09), Kano (Iris Collect), Kirika, Y'Shtola, Suzune (Iris Collect Petite)
Jezrah Posted July 15, 2020 4 hours ago, DollfieSparkles2007 said: 9. No Dynamite Busts Yeah this is a big one. the DDdy Busts makes them unique but... really? They do NOT need to be that big, It's really unrealistic. They can keep their hips and thighs though. Not to single you out or anything, because you are far from the only one saying negative things about the dynamite busts, but can we all stop with this please? The dynamite bust is not unrealistic in size. There are many real people (myself included) who have a large bust like this. Some say that the gravity-defying shape is what's unnatural. With this I politely disagree, because that is what a large bust looks like while wearing a bra, and you do not go without a bra in public with a large bust. Our girls just have the added bonus of not actually having to wear a bra, which can be bulky under 1/3 scale clothing at times. What is actually unnatural about a DDdy's proportions is how small the rib cage is in comparison to her shoulder and hip widths. However, this is both a style choice, and allows clothing to sit with less bulk, much like how the DD body is designed with its waspish waste. I certainly understand if you don't personally like the dynamite bust and choose not to use it, but do we have to bring this up repeatedly? Anyways, I would not agree with removing the dynamite bust, because this would be removing an inclusivity option. I would rather be more inclusive rather than less. Sorry if this became ranty, I just got a bit miffed. 3

While I agree that Tan specifically should be more widely available, Japan has a distinct culture around exclusivity and limited products. The whole point of these things only being available at Doll Point locations is that it makes them seem special and desirable. Quote 6. Painted DDH-01 - DDH-10 Heads They had these in 2010 but got rid of them. I think they should have pre-painted heads. I'M NOT GOOD AT FACEUPPING!! While pre-painted heads are no longer available through a magazine preorder, they are still frequently available secondhand from places like Mandarake. There are also plenty of wonderful faceup artists that work on vinyl dolls. I don't have the skills or proper materials for faceups, which is why I paid to have my Smart Doll boy repainted by someone who does. 1 He/Him --- I like making stuff --- Please don't make sexual/lewd comments about my dolls, thank you! They look very nice under clothes. Since I thought they were a little too big, I thought maybe making them a little smaller but still being large. Hope you understand. It does make it more desirable and therefore they should probably keep it as exclusive for a little while longer. On the other hand. How do people buy tan busts and hands? Are those Doll Point exclusives too? 15 hours ago, RainbowNanaki said: While pre-painted heads are no longer available through a magazine preorder, they are still frequently available secondhand from places like Mandarake. They are just a little too expensive for my taste and I would end up probably trying to do a faceup myself.

moerunamida Posted July 15, 2020 Being new to Dollfie Dreams, I don't think I could list 10 things but there are a few I'd like to see. ♥No more lotteries, just preorder. Coming from Smart Doll land, the lottery is nerve wracking for me. I'd rather wait longer for a doll that goes through a preorder rather than just chance luck. ♥I agree about bringing a Dollfie Dream Choice system to America. I'd love to have had more options when I picked my first girl from the Volks store. Add a Volks Europe to this list as well. We are blessed in the US to not have to pay custom fees and our friends over the Pond do. Give them a Volks Europe (and Dream Choice) to help lessen that sting. ♥This one is purely out of annoyance. I studied pictures of Karin and Towa in depth before I decided between them. Volks needs WAY better photos of their dolls, side profiles, angles, everything. One thing I've found is these girls look a lot better in person than photos (or at least my own and Volks). I don't like lotteries either. (Well it doesn't really apply to me cuz I'm 13). Also they aren't like lotteries in the US. You still have to pay for the dang item! 24 minutes ago, Deyja said: ♥I agree about bringing a Dollfie Dream Choice system to America. I feel like Europe is barely even mentioned in Dollfie land anywhere. It's all Japan and USA. They need a Doll Point everywhere! 24 minutes ago, Deyja said: ♥This one is purely out of annoyance. As well as back profiles. Back profiles would help especially with wigs. Like is there a half ponytail there? No one would know. It’s the same price-wise as a clickwar sale, but whether or not you get it depends on getting your number drawn rather than how good your internet connection is. For really popular things, like new dolls, I think it works better than the clickwar method because the site doesn’t overloaded as much. It’s really stressful when you’re trying to make such an important purchase but the site goes down in the middle of it. It seems like the limited preorder method they’ve moved to isn’t as bad, though.

KMM In the kind of lottery that’s more common in the US, you pay to enter and the money used for the ticket is gone whether you win or lose. Those lotteries are a form of gambling, while the Volks ones aren’t really. Clickwar works like it typically does when you purchase something online; it’s first come first served. So everyone tries to get on as fast as possible, and then the site shuts down. Or it crashes and kicks you off before you finish your order. In both cases, Volks has already made all the dolls they’re selling. Preorder is when they collect the orders first and make that many of the dolls (which is why it takes so long to get them). Yes, It did sound like there was a difference in them. Clickwar is pretty obvious. It's pretty much a war of clicking to get the item. Thanks! KMM

Corgi Posted July 22, 2020 Adding Dollfie Choice option to the US site would be great. Especially with the new heads and tan options. For the DDY bust, an in-between DF Large and the current DDY bust would be nice for those who want smaller but still bigger options - not sure if that make sense? MichelleAK Posted July 22, 2020 I'd like medium and large busts available for the DDP body. I'd like to get a DDP body as an alternative for my MDD (and for that matter, my other DD heads), but I won't until there are other bust options.
