Ah ok, I have seen their site before, but it looks like shipping is Japan only.

That's probably nothing Zenmarket can't fix. 😉

So a single dab in the correct spot was all:

That works like a charm. A little bit of practice and I was able control the size of the dab well enough to fit the size to the girl’s overall look.

I used a pointed sculpting tool, put a small quantity of resin on the tip and transferred it to the doll from there. That seemed to allow me a fair amount of precision in sizing.

My girls are almost always wearing clothes, unless I’m playing around with trying different poses, but I’ve always felt they look odd without a bit of color and definition there.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

Glad to hear it worked well for you. And the sculpting tool to control the amount of resin is an interesting Idea, too.

Did you just mod with the resin, or did you / are you planning to paint them as well?

Paint, but that’s going to take some trial and error. I like the way the pastels look, but I’ve had no luck making it stick to vinyl. I have some ideas to try out though.

Agreed! In preparation for my modification/painting I adorned quite a few pieces of scrap vinyl with random nipples....

I like pastels because I can apply them with a cotton swab (I suck with brushes) and correct with a rubber if necessary.

But it's kind of odd that it's not working for you. Are you using the Volks pastels?

Yes, but using a brush.

Then definitely try with a cotton swab. A common one is fine - the extra precision you get with a pointy (arts & crafts) one isn't really necessary just for blushing.

Thanks I’ll give that a try. A brush was something I saw used in a video on blushing a resin, but it seemed like all it did was waste pastels.

If you use a brush it has to be one made for applying powders. The one I use for nip blushing was made for human makeup, to apply powdered eye shadow. A brush made for applying paint doesn't have the right texture to finely disperse a powder. I use the same brush to apply blushing for cheeks too because I like how the edges of the color taper off naturally.

That worked like a charm for blushing Belldandy’s collarbone and shoulder blades. Wish I had known that a few years ago when I was first trying to give the visible parts of my resins some color. I gave up and literally just used a finger to smear the pastels, which worked pretty well compared to the brush, but this was way better.

Now my girls are going to suffer the dreaded practice. 😈

The only issue with this resin was, it doesn't take on the pastel paint all that well.

I wonder if you could use a railroad modelers trick, and paint the surface of the resin with a layer of thinly diluted Elmer's glue to make it tacky enough to grip the pastels?

That's an interesting idea. - Then again you could also start painting when the MSC isn't fully dry yet.
But overall, it depends a lot on the resin that you use. The one I used for Kanata worked much better.

I wasn't thinking of blushing while wet, I was thinking more to create a surface that things wouldn't be prone to flake off of. i.e. paint the glue on the resin, let it dry, then follow with MSC, and then blush.
