Azone 50's anyone?

Some weeks ago I got one of Obitsu's semi-custom dolls off Mandarake (looks like the bue-eyed poster girl from here: https://www.obitsushop.com/SHOP/50ST-001-W.html), together with a wig that fits perfectly. Of course she needed a costume, and although I had some nice high socks in stock I had not other outfits available for her to wear. So I ordered a few that were discounted at Hobbysearch.

And also to stop this young lady from lazing around wearing nothing but socks, which she seems to be a bit too gleeful to do...

Outfit #1: AZO2 Classical Maid Set (Black)

Without the apron...

"Why do I have to wear this?"

...and with the apron:

"Humpf, you have some tastes."

This maid outfit is actually for the AZO2 body, but fits a normal Obitsu 50 body quite well, especially if the doll in question has an L-chest. The bad is that the sleeves  and chest area are mostly unlined with white on the inside, so they might stain over time.

Outfit #2: 50 Classical Nurse Set (White x Navy)

It looks quite nice, but IMHO is kinda short. The hat is hard to keep on her head.

So that was the nurse outfit, which is a bit short, and also can be used for more sexy times including a naked apron if you and/or your doll is into such things. The bad about the blue part of the outfit is that the top half is mostly unlined with white on the inside.

"See, more reason for me to only wear the apron, daddy!"

i'm thinking of getting Milene (Lumilange Angel V1.1) but she's too expensive... might want to find her at a reasonable price...

 

If All Goes Well... Beginning of FEB. i'll be Welcoming my Very First genuine Dollfie Dream-Adjacent Third-Scaled Hunnie...

in the form of a mid-2010's Happiness Clover Girl.

That is all i can say for now... but i'll keep you all posted over the next two weeks...

As you can See; i detailed and Clear-Coated her Mouth/Lower Lip.

i also Clear-Coated her Eyes to give them a moist sheen and Lens-like depth of clarity.

Further... i Dressed up her included Lingerie with Lace trim all over, and added Matching, Coordinated Socks~

Well Shoot; Someone Restrain Me Already!!! 

Here i had just brought my First-Ever 50cm. Lady into my life (AZONE Happiness Clover Kureha Mihagi "My Sweet Girl") 

Less than a Month after my Birthday (JAN. 23) and Here i Am... with ANOTHER 50cm. Hunnie♥ on her way;

Happiness Clover Yukari Sasamori "Your Early Spring" i found her NoS/Sealed from a U.S. Seller 

for about Half of what Kureha had cost me Shipped from HOBBY SEARCH.

 

I Already have several Outfits for Kureha... and she can Share with Yuka here. 

one ♥Hunnie♥ will mainly get to be a Miko... the other a Ballerina or a Nurse~

It is so great to see the comparison photos in this thread.  I had not realised Azone 50 were so close in size to DDS.  This is very useful.  Would also love to see any repaints people have done.  I love the Azone sets, but not as keen on some of the faces.

They’re closer in size to DDP.

DDS is about 5cm taller, although due to the proportions, can wear AZO2 clothing.

Azone 50 can wear some DDS clothing, but it usually looks oversized. MDD is a better fit in many cases.

I personally had more success with regular Azone 50 (not AZO2) outfits fitting well on DDS S-bust (and sometimes M-bust).

The few AZO2 outfits I've tried do somewhat work on DDS L-bust, but there's always a bit that's too baggy somewhere and a snap that doesn't want to close properly somewhere else...

I've been thinking about AZO2 outfits for my girls, so in terms of the fit being baggy, is this in more in the trunk, bust or arms?  Wondering if it's something I can just pin back/alter or if I should just write it off completely. 

It's sorta hit and miss for me. I still have a fair bit of holdover AZO2 outfits that I've tried on Mai (as a DDS-S and DDS-M).

The main thing I tend to notice that's off is that the stuff tends to run short. Sleeves are short, or it barely clears the belly button, and it's not the kind of outfit where you want that happening. In other cases, the outfit rides up around the shoulders or doesn't snap around the back (because the DDS shoulders are broader), so even if there's room around the bust, it looks weird.

 

 

I'm Feeling that the combo of parts from Yuka's Miko set with parts from the AZONE Accessory Outfit sets 

that i had picked up from HOBBY SEARCH about a year or so ago

Resulted in Kureha becoming the ♥Shrine Maiden of my Dreams♥

I have to indeed correct myself. - Quite a few clothing Items I was thinking were Azone 50, turned out to be AZO2... 😅

So, there's definitely some AZO2 Items that do fit well on DDS, like the shirts here on Eunie (L-bust) on the left and on Melty (M-bust) on the right.

However, Melty's shirt is too tight to fit DDS L-bust, whereas Eunie's shirt even fits on SmD S-bust:

I've had these issues with AZO2 dresses on DDS, they tend to be too tight directly below the bust but then get too baggy around the waist (probably because on the AZO2 the hip already starts here).

In case the shoulders are too tight, going down one bust size on the DDS might help to close it in the back, but then may leave the bust itself too baggy.

If the fabric is stretchy enough this likely is less of an issue, but with stiffer fabric (for instance the China dresses) this is probably tricky to fix.

 

So in the end I guess it comes down to how individual Items are designed and, as @chef_mai put it, it's hit or miss...

Thank you both for letting me know.  Sounds like a bit of a gamble, I'll see if I can find some second hand and give it a go! 

 

Combining the "Rucy" Head with an Aftermarket Wig, from my 2024 IMOMODOLL "Little Fry Cook" Mayoko,

with the Body and Outfit Set of my most Recent Acquisition, AZONE's "Happiness Clover" Yukari Sasamori, Resulted in... Perfection.

Her Name; "Mayuka Sasamori" works as a Lovely-sounding Transposition of Mayoko and Yukari into one... Adopting the last name Sasamori in the Bargain;
