What other types of things do you collect?

I don't collect to collect, but I have a decent casual collection / mini library of Japanese books and manga. I also have some figures, but I'm trying to be selective and only buy scales from now on. I'll post pictures to my website after I clean my room.

I have a largeish Metroid collection.  I have all of the (my original) games in their original NA boxes/cases with inserts, a good chunk of the figures, all the amiibos, several official and original art pieces, the limited 3DS, and some other bits and bobs.  It's how Samus ended up becoming my first doll when I finally entered the doll hobby.  

I collect figures, manga, and and pretty much any Tamayura (my favorite anime) merch that I can find. I also have a collection of music CDs that I've amassed over the years. I still prefer to buy physical copies over digital when I can.

Mecha Model Kits... my initial Gateway into Anime to begin with as an early/middle-teen in the early/mid-1990's;

Whenever I order stuff from Japan I've started buying a few figures too. They're many times cheaper to import than to buy them in the UK. There's a couple of anime stores in Covent Garden London selling them for eyewatering prices 🙄.

Usually I buy figures relating to whatever anime I'm into at the time. We do also have a few figures of our DD, like a beautiful figure of Kirika Towa Alma. We have a lot of Mikus and Rems too (obviously).

Here's the pick of my latest haul of mostly Frieren related figures. The next time Volks run a what character do you want to see next as a DD, I'm voting for Aura.

Ooof I'm a collector of hobbies probably, I like dabbling in anything creative where I can. Though my main ones currently are digital art, miniature kit making & hand sewing

My other 'collections' outside of my dolls is definitely manga & books in general, specifically queer manga & manga memoirs (especially ones that haven't/won't be translated into English), and my growing vintage traditional Japanese clothing collection.

I've also got a few old nendoroids, anime prize figures & gacha prizes that sit happily on my shelves but I wouldn't really call them collections as such. I used to have a sizeable pokemon merchandise collection but that's been culled down a bit in recent years & multiple moves...

It's interesting how collectors of one thing tend to have a few other things they collect as well, whether it be physical/digital items or just a collection of hobbies.

I dunno if it counts as collecting per say, but I do have a habit of playing every new major gacha release that started with genshin during the pandemic

I'm a lifelong collector at heart (people like me are the reason toy companies can't advertise to children anymore), and were money no object, I would doubtless have many more collections than I do.

In addition to DDs, I have a collection of resin BJDs, Blythe dolls, Furbys, books, crochet hooks, sketch books, and yarn. Oh, and my one lone Labubu, though I would like at least one more (he needs a friend!). My primary hobbies include video games, drawing, writing, reading, and crochet, though I also dabble in other forms of both art and fiber crafts. I like making things! It's good for the soul!

I don't really consider them "collections," per se, but I also keep dried flower petals off of every bouquet my husband buys for me and wine corks from bottles we have shared over special occasions (our engagement, wedding, and honeymoon). Someday, I may turn these into a shadow box or some other artsy display for our home.

I do collect anime figures and plushies but I've begun downsizing ever since I got more into 1/3 and 1/4 scale dolls. I've started downsizing my 1/6 dolls as well. There are tons of figures and 1/6 dolls I find really beautiful, but I always have to debate myself on whether I want the space or the item more. I know for sure I want my Dollfies and larger resin dolls- so instead of buying figures I've taken to collecting artbooks and postcards from specific artists I like/anime or games I like instead. For 1/6 dolls I try to stick to just buying clothes now instead of the dolls themselves.

I've Cut a fair deal of Fat out of my own Figure/Statue Collection...

Mostly GACHAPON-Grade Figurines and 15/20 year-old 1/7ish Statues that haven't Aged terribly Well...

mostly all sorts of dolls, horse figures such a my little pony and breyer/ schleich, DVDs, and insects 

I collect anime figures as well as anime trading cards. Currently working on getting my girls new outfits and keep finding far to much to spend more money on. I even broke down to purchase a 3d printer & 3D scanner to make some repair parts of my Dollfies, (I broke & cracked some parts on older skeletons that no longer have support). I need to focus on getting them dressed and photographed to share with people. (that is one of the joys of having pretty dolls after all).  Just thought about it. I might try and make IS (Infinite Stratos) mecha armor parts for DDs

oh my goodness I collect so much. So right now my main focus is my dolls but I also collect precious moments figures, cherished teddy figures, littlest pet shops, taxidermy, bugs/pinned bugs, barbie dolls, monster high dolls, books, CDS and vinyls, and movies!

I collect hobbies? Lol but other than that I collect perfume bottles, but not religiously. Just if they have interesting shapes or colors.

 

I've Been Working on Bringing some of my Childhood Toys back to me since 2024,

starting with an improved version of the Cabbage Patch Kids Astronaut Girl i had as a Young Boy.

She has stubbornly stuck in my mind throughout my Entire Life to date...

and i've Welcomed her back as an Adorable Precious Moments Girl that i've named "Colette"

I collect hobbies, lol.  Depending on where my ADHD takes me, I knit, sew, crochet, embroider...and a lot of it is for my dolls!

I also play some video games.

I've been a collector my whole life so I have several though I've fallen out of love with a lot of them as time carried one. The ones I currently have and enjoy (that aren't dolls) are my Hatsune Miku nendoroids; all my used books, especially my high quality art print books, books on Russian folktales and folk art, and books on the Ballet Russe; my Sonny Angels; my Sanrio Pochacco figures; my Mr Mime plushies; and I have one binder that holds all my enamel pins. 

Like TheL1985, I also "collect" hobbies, so I have a good size crafting/art supply collection too that I really enjoy having.

I really like collecting plushes and keychains of anime/games I like! Right now I've been collecting a lot of merch of Kotone from Gakumas.
