Old old obitsu 60cm questions

Not sure if this belongs here or customization but here we go. I have an old old obitsu 60cm doll, the one with the hinges, with a male torso. He has one of those thick neck pegs with the screw, and then it slots through the neck hole… it has a disk to hold the head on but it is always popping off. 
 

I don’t mind the body but since his head is always popping off I was wondering if anyone has ever successfully hybrided this older head onto a different body? Most vinyl dolls these days have a thinner peg? Not the slot. So I’m not sure what he would fit or if he even could. 
 

I think he’s really cute and would love to give him a new lease on life but unsure how to go about it since his current neck post isn’t compatible with anything new. Any ideas? 

I own one of these. I don't find the disc to be particularly helpful either. Some people put the head on a DD body, and push a bottle cork to push down over the DD peg to keep the head in place: http://apokriphablog.blogspot.com/2012/12/obitsu-head-mdd-body-tutorial.html 

If you're going to try this method I would probably use one of the synthetic corks like the one used in the above post, rather than a natural cork, as the latter leaves bits everywhere and the hole doesn't stay tight on the neck peg. Maybe another option would be putting him on a new Obitsu boy body?

Thanks so much for the info. I’ll check out the link provided. I’m ok with moving him to a newer obitsu body as I had originally wanted like the boy 55 or 50. But I didn’t think this neck peg would work on those.

Hmm...I'm not sure how dissimilar the old pegs are to the new ones. I can't imagine the design has changed drastically? It might be a case of removing the peg and swapping it for one of the newer pegs, which can be bought from Parabox or 1999.co.jp when they have them in stock. Also I would love to see pics of your guy if you feel like posting him!

he’s a sweet boy and I don’t really mind his current body as it’s pretty good condition for it’s age but the head popping off is annoying. lol

he's lovely, these old sculpts are underrated. I have the closed eyes/grumpy version of this head <33 I'd love to get one like yours too someday! : )

Thanks! He’s very sweet. I’ve always wanted to give him a big bushy tail.
