Anyone ever stuffed a DD body to change proportions slightly?

Hi all! I have a floating DD Magical Ruby head who I want to put on a Dynamite body. I would like for the body to have a rounder stomach, so I'm wondering if anyone has ever achieved something similar by placing foam or stuffing inside the frame, similar to how some people stuff soft skin APs to improve their shape. 

I have seen one link mentioning this, but no photos or any sort of documentation. Is DD vinyl soft enough for it to work? Does it put any strain on the shape of the pieces? 

DD vinyl is much firmer than Angel Philia vinyl so I strongly doubt stuffing the vinyl would change it's shape at all.

If you would want this to work you would have to carve down the vinyl from the inside, to make it much thinner, and then you could possibly stuff it much like you do with an Angel Philia to create a rounder stomach. However this type of modding seems very risky and complicated to do, and still might not achieve the effect you're looking for.

I know Smart Doll is releasing a chubby body soon, but it wouldn't match the head you have. My next suggestion would be looking into a resin body that has the look you're hoping to achieve in the 1/3 scale and either have it color matched to your head or attempt to dye it to match.

I do know @Oculae also made a chubby doll, their Sinclair, through a mix of Obitsu parts. However I believe they are quite rare parts.

Either way I really do hope you're able to eventually achieve the look you're going for!

Seconding @MagicalRozen’s comment about DD vinyl being too firm for stuffing to make a difference.

Additionally, while this is a matter of personal preference and your mileage may vary, I don’t recommend using a Dynamite body with the Magical Ruby head, which is a DDH-06. The DDH-06 is a relatively small head and looks a bit weird on a normal DD body, so it might look even weirder on a body with bigger proportions.

There's a guy on twitter (@wes00276; nsfw, he takes lots of racy doll pics; his pinned tweet shows one body and where the parts came from/how they were modded) who has two DD bodies modded to be a bit thicker. He said he used a heat gun to soften the vinyl and then stuffed them with fabric to stretch them out while they were still soft, and then reheated the tummies so he could push them out with his fingers to create a little pooch. I don't believe they needed to keep the stuffing after they cooled.

@ragnamuffin, thanks for the heads up on that! I was honestly considering getting her a DDS body instead to cut costs and now I think that may be a better idea. I never thought to try putting her on my other DD's body to see how it looked, partially because it's an older head and I don't want to put excess strain on the neck hole by swapping it more than I need to. 

I'm already pretty particular about the head/neck ratio of Dollfies, with some like DDDy Miko just looking totally off to me. This is definitely something to consider!

@la_, thanks for pointing me in the right direction! While this may not be the right choice for me in the end, this is still something I'd like to attempt with a DD eventually.

DDdy Miko is actually a DDH-06 head, so if you don’t like the way she looks then you probably wouldn’t like the way the Magical Ruby head would look on it either. Admittedly the wig can make or break it, so your mileage may vary.

@buncho gave one of their dolls, Mami, a rounder shape by making a custom stuffed bodysuit. I think this would probably be an easier way to do it if you just want the stomach area to be different.
