Comprehensive List of Dollybird Magazine Patterns

Recommended Posts

AliceDoll

Is there a comprehensive list somewhere that has a list of what comes in each magazine?

I just bought my first dollybird magazine (issue 35) second hand and I'm kind of obsessed with finding more! I can't wait until the magazine gets here!

I'm specifically looking for MDD/Kumako sized patterns and I'd hate having to gamble on each issue!

If there isn't one available online, is that something we might be able to do here? :)

I understand your obsession 😍

I’m totally addicted to the Dollybird volumes and I’m on a quest to collect them all

I’m sure you’re going to love your vol. 35

I share quick flip-through videos on our YouTube channel and I’m also working on compiling a list of patterns from each volume

Volume 33 featured Kumako and that volume has patterns for the doll

There's a Dollybird patterns database here on DollDreaming

It hasn’t been updated in a while but it’s a good place to start especially for the older volumes

I hope you’ll come back and share your thoughts about 25

They have a brief overview of what’s in each magazine on their website, but it’s certainly not comprehensive.

Luckily Kumako is relatively new so you won’t have to track down too many older copies. I have volumes 30 and 33, and there was an article in Vol. 30 introducing both her and puyodoll so you can safely assume that was the first issue to feature her. Dunno about MDD, but the magazine skews heavily toward 1/6 dolls so it’s unlikely there will be much of interest to you if you’re only focused on bigger scale dolls.

I have all of them except 2, 7, and 29, and your 35! and I’d love to update the pattern listings. I think you can find three issues online in a database scanned in. I’m a bit short on time until the fall due to work to do the database, but I’m off Thursday so I can flip through and give you the best issues to go for. Newer ones are likely gonna be your best bet but get a #10 if you can, it has underthings patterns for many sizes!!!(female). And doll dimensions.

There is a lot of 1/6, Blythe etc. but older issues have a fair amount of SD, DD. There is also quite a lot of Unoa. (Which could be modified for MDD).

Following! I’ve been looking for patterns for my Kumako girls. I wish Dollybird had a kindle version! There are a few doll pattern magazines with kindle version on amazon, but 1/6 geared.

For the Dollybird list I'm including the following:

  • Volume number
  • Doll the pattern was designed for
  • Style of pattern (shirt, dress, stockings etc)

Example:

Volume 2:

Neo Blythe

  • Dress and Beret
  • Blouse, Jacket and Pleated Skirt
  • Pants w/Frills, Crochet Top and Scarf

Super Dollfie Girl (SD Girl)

  • Dress

What other information would you need to choose a pattern?

Would knowing who designed the pattern be helpful?

Unfortunately, I won't have the time to scan & include images of the outfit
