Naoko2112 Posted May 17, 2024 Starting next week, our doll family will have 12 members because Hanako, my twin sister, is coming. Of these, 5 are Lifesize dolls and 3 are Smart dolls. yes, 2 lifesized dolls have had to leave our family in the past. that was heartbreaking. We also had Barbies who are no longer with us, and that also felt strange. No new dolls will then be added. But no more will go away. They will stay until the end. And what will happen then, who can say? *mumble* ...damn it, I need a big mausoleum...

Rajke Posted July 13 I am still bad at selling and parting with my collection. I know what I have to do to earn them so I value them. Some were bought when I reached a certain milestone in life. 1 Greetz, Rajke

Xiongmao Posted October 4 This thought is very much in my mind at the moment. My collection is substantial and this afternoon I plan on doing a photo shoot of them all to celebrate the 5th anniversary of my first doll's arrival. I am tired with my family being disrespectful towards a hobby I enjoy so much. So I would like my collection to be sold and the proceeds donated to charity. I have a toy related charity in mind and I also plan on leaving an endowment to my old school. I kind of like the idea of having a lottery or a clickwar here on the forum. These are Volks dolls after all. The winners pay for shipping plus a donation to the charity. I'd like it so much for them to go to homes where they will be treasured. I'm not sure if they would retain their value over the long term. Does anyone have a vinyl doll from the very old days? All I know is Towa is now 5 and she's in perfect condition apart from her fingertips. I guess Erica Fontaine is my oldest Dollfie (from 2013?). She's in perfect condition apart from a bit of flaking on her boots. I also have a substantial collection of outfits and accessories, plus the Pureneemos and a number of super rare figures and stuff I picked up on auction sites while growing the doll family. The older anime also fade from memory with time. However, I'm sure Miku, Rem, Ram and Emilia will be popular for a long time, and shows like Frieren and Konosuba are too iconic to disappear completely. I'm in the process of appointing somebody to oversee the winding down of my estate. Who knows when this will happen but two friends have died recently and my estate is too substantial to keep my head in the sand about such matters. 2 My Dollfie doll family December 2024 😊. delta3689 Posted October 4 Today I saw a post somewhere about how the OP found out that her mother is also collecting Azone dolls and even kept many of the limited clothes... Idk if I will ever have kids, but if I do or if my friends do and if they would be into dolls as well, then def that. Imagine how happy those kids must feel🥺
TheL1985 Posted November 14 I haven't really thought too far into the future. I'd like to have a nice china hutch to keep them in, since those are sturdy and would have plenty of drawers for things like boxes, extra eyes and wigs, and clothes. If I have children, I could leave the dolls to them, I suppose, or to close friends who like them. The last thing I want is for them to end up with people who don't appreciate their worth and would toss them in a landfill.
hospitalitydoll Posted November 20 As with my other collectibles, I'd keep them until the day I die, then they can go to any friends or family that may have an interest in them. If nobody wants them, I'd leave instructions for my family on where/how to sell them and the general value. (But I'd hope they'd want to keep them.)
Amapola Posted November 20 Dolls are my meth, so they're probably going to stick with me till the day I die. I don't think all of my current collection will be there with me then since I've already feel myself wanting to sell a few of them, but I'm just holding onto them for now since I have space and not in need of funds. It's hard to say what it will look like in the future, but I know that there's some dolls that you would need to pry from my cold dead hands to part with them. I tend to hold onto things once I get them, with there being a decent amount of items in my room that are +10 years old and there's also quite a few that are from when I was a baby/toddler because I like them so much. I would have kept more of my things if I didn't have to part with them due to things outside of my control. If I do keel over one day, I've left instructions to post a notice of my death in doll spaces so other collectors can come over to take what they want. It's not something my family wants to sift through, but I know they can't bear to toss them. I know I can't with their collections. If some museum does want them I would gladly send some over but I'm not sure if there's any that would actually want them.
