Hi everyone o/

Hello, Rheynna here 😊 I'm happy to finally join after lurking for a while.

I got into dolly collecting back in 2011 with Pullips (I own 8 of them) and last year I bought my two Azone Iris Collect girlies: Milene Kina's Fantasy Romances Fallen Angel (as a lover of all gothy things, specially dolls, my heart skipped a beat -or two- when I saw her browsing through a store and I knew had to have her) and Kano Hatsu Haru no Kimi (I was enamoured with her but thought she'd be impossible to get, being limited and direct store exclusive, so you better believe less than a minute passed between me receiving the notification of my usual doll store posting she had her in stock on Twitter and completing the purchase😄).

Now I would really like to buy my first Dollfie Dream (I had been interested in them since I got into the hobby) and I'm a bit torn between choosing one of the two collaboration models I really love available in Mandarake or waiting for a new release I like from the official store (as none of the ones they have currently available really convince me).

As for other objectives, I'd really like to learn how to take proper pictures of my dolls and to dare to personalize my future DD with new clothes/wig/eyes, since I've mostly kept the rest of my collection in their original stock.

Ah, a fellow Pullip lover! They were definitely my gateway into collecting too, before I was old enough to even dream of getting them. As a lover of gothy dolls, would you happen to be a Rozen Maiden fan?

Both your dolls are gorgeous fullsets, I totally understand keeping them in their original outfits! But customizing a doll really is a lot of fun too, especially with how many amazing clothes makers there are out there.

Welcome to the forums. Which ones are you undecided on? I recommend getting whichever you really like and can’t live without, but realistically you will probably end up getting all of the ones you like 😄

Thank you! There's also the fact that getting Milene into her dress costed me blood sweat and tears😅 so I'm afraid of taking it off; but if I ever find clothes that fit Kano, I'd love to see her in more casual wear sometimes.

And I did start watching Rozen Maiden after discovering the series because of the Pullip catalogue but stopped after realizing that keeping myself from buying the Suigintou and Kirakishou dolls was hard enough before even getting to know the characters properly, and if I happened to love all the girls in the show it could have been potentially catastrophic for my wallet 😆  But now that you've reminded me of it I might actually give it a watch.

Thanks! I keep going back and forth between Anastasia (probably my favourite face in the catalogue, but I don't care much about her stock) and Ranko (very pretty AND absolute stock perfection 😍 the dress, the shoes, the umbrella..., but I'm a bit afraid she'd reinforce my stay-in-stock syndrome 😅)

Ahhh, both are super cute, but I have a soft spot for Anastasia—she was my first Dollfie Dream and I fall in love with her even more every time I take her out ❤️ 

If you need a little push, @catcat recently got an Anastasia too and posted some photos in the Photo section 😉 

But even with the higher price, Ranko might be cheaper in the long run if you’re not going to change her wig, eyes and outfit.

ranko is so beautiful & i love her default outfit so much too! if i could ever snag it up for my anastasia i would! 

i think someone in the forums is selling anastasia's head, if you wanted to buy ranko's fullset and then down the line pick up anastasia's head & a body.
personally i'm in love with my anastasia, i think her sculpt is really beautiful and i'm so glad i decided to get her!

Ahhh~ I finally caved in and placed an order for Anastasia, I love her face too much (and there's also the fact that I want to go and find her new wigs, clothes and maybe eyes to make her more my own, knowing myself I'd just keep Ranko in her original look).

 

Now to wait for Mandarake's availability confirmation...

If you don’t mind sharing, what is the name of that outfit and where did you get that wig? Does the outfit stain? 👀

the outfit doesn't stain, the shirt and petticoat are white and stop the black from touching her skin. the bodice part of the dress is lined light grey also

as far as the wig goes, i have no idea 😪i think i got it second hand 10 years ago, i forgot i even had it. sorry i couldn't help you more!

That’s good to know! It looks like something my Saber Alter would like to wear, but she’s White skin, so I’m extra paranoid about staining 😅

oh yes, i would be paranoid about white skin too! my advice would be to just make sure her arms/hands dont touch the black of the dress, just to be sure.

welcome! I love the 1/6th azone too! I just got my first 50cm Azone this past birthday. I get you on trying to take good pics. I've never been good with cameras. I just bought a tripod for a cellphone they really help if your hands shake like mine. I hope we get to see your dolls soon!

Yea, Azone dolls use the Obitsu body, so the Obitsu section would be the right one. We’d love to see them if you’re willing to share.
