Missed doll chances

If I may complain once more....I was so tempted by a blank Konomi head I posted in the Blank Limited Molds thread. She's so cute...but I need to save my money at the moment.

The one doll that I will forever kick myself over is Hatsune Miku NT during her pre-order. I had the money saved up for her at the time, but I always tend to fight myself over when I should buy something and when I shouldn't. Anyways, I ended up waiting a day or two before actually going to get her before realizing her pre-order was way shorter than I had originally thought. :')

I was about 3 minutes late to a FS post for a REALLY well priced Kizuna Ai fullset. So close!! Someone messaged before me!

I also hate myself for not even trying to get Miku NT, seeing her in person reeeeeeally drilled in the FOMO.

Not really a specific doll, but it feels like every time I decide to not bid on a custom MDD/DD head on yahoo auctions because I'm worried the price would end up too high there ends up being no/very few extra bids, and the price goes for way lower than I expected it would. It's happened three times so far. Miraculously, I managed to snag one of the ones I missed secondhand around two months later!

All being well I've just acquired the Re:Zero girls.

The price was, uh, high, but super rare Ram was not up for a crazy price like she appears on YJA for (I saw her for 500,000, which is a LOT more than I paid for her). Rem and Emilia were very attractively priced.

I took a chance by sleeping on the idea of acquiring them but they were still there the next morning and I took that as a sign.

If any had sold I probably would have passed on the deal. I wanted them to stay as a trio if possible.

There is the risk of them being rebooted, but I'm not certain they will. I think there are just too many other new characters Volks should make. They've not done anybody from Oshi and they still need to make Frieren's sidekick Fern.

Well, I'm currently kicking myself pretty hard over this one. This bidding ended about 1 hour before my hunt began. It has literally everything i want & is within my price range 😭

I missed a blue SmD Moment that was on facebook. She was also in the UK. I don't often visit the fb buy sell/groups and was just browsing to see if anyone was selling a SmD wig I was needing and there she was. I missed her by a couple of hours.

i was literally beating myself up mentally a while back for not getting into this hobby sooner (otherwise known as before I went to China), so I could've explored some in person shops there ueeuuuuuuu

I missed the chance to buy the Ariel (little mermaid) Dollfie. It was too expensive at the time it was listed. I should have asked if they accepted a layaway instead of saving the money until I have the total amount. 

Just two days ago a person posted two mamachapp dolls on the local selling site. Apprently they don't know how this brand has priced up and they were asking for a very low price - it was an auction though. I was super excited as I always wanted to get one of them but they were way too pricy. I wrote the person a very honest text, explaining how I'd pay a reasonable price for them and how I'd treat them nicely and ofc not resell them. I guess the person then realized that the dolls actually cost a lot now, so they took the site down and did not reply to me anymore:( I still feel a bit sad about that as I thought at least I would get a price offer but I guess it is what it is now

Last year I missed a chance to buy Fumika Sagisawa. At the time I'd just bought Rem, Ram and Emilia so even I thought another doll would be excessive.

Thankfully I found her again a couple of months ago. The previous Fumika did come with her alternative outfit. I don't currently have it for my Fumika because it's crazily expensive.

I have a lot of dolls now, but Fumika is just in another league.

This year I've also missed two chances to pick up Erica Sendo(u) from Fortune Arterial. The first one was nearly mine but when @ragnamuffin went to Dollyteria she was gone! Oddly for a grail she also came up for sale a month later. I passed on that one because she had some issues I wasn't happy with. So she remains a grail but I did eventually find Pureneemo her.

Wanted to bid on a head this morning but I forgot about it and went to bed without doing so. It ended up selling for less than what I would have bid on it, though that doesn't necessarily mean I would have won. Certainly wasn't the first time that has happened and probably won't be the last.

Got into the hobby only recently so I missed out on Takane Shijou from Im@s release. 
I also would have tried to get the Belldandy Super Dollfie.

Dollfie Dream Kaito preorder, since I was unable to afford him back then.  Judging by how often the others get rereleased, I'll rather wait for a rerelease since his aftermarket prices are quite high. 

There were also some Iris Collect Petit dolls I missed out on since one was an exclusive and I didn't realize one was in tan (and no money).

I also see listings for Smartdoll boys on the second hand market with good pricing but its always during periods where I need to save money. Next time, maybe?

I Missed Out on a DD Mikuru Asahina from an EBAY Seller within the Same US State as me (Oregon)

But; - Long Story Short - that Loss ended up Almost Directly Resulting in me finding my "May Saotome" here♥

I don't know how likely it will be, but I'm hoping Volks decides to re-release them!

I missed out on an eBay auction for a gorgeous custom Dollfie Dream styled as Yuri from Doki Doki Literature Club. Her final bid price wound up being only slightly more than my Christmas doll budget. Problem was, I didn’t have the money at the time. 

Last year there was a Sakura Shinguji with some issues on Mandarake for 60,000 yen. She sat in my favourites list for ages and I long debated buying her because I thought I had already spent too much that year on dolls. The day I finally decided to get her she had sold.

I've very jokingly told myself to be an impulsive buyer with how many things I've sat on and then regretted not buying finding out they were gone. 

But the only real doll I missed out on was the Dream Valley Ghost Moth preorder. It was the first darker brown resin doll I had ever seen, and I have another moth doll (Tinyfox Fluffy) so I wanted to keep the theme going. Thankfully, I should be able to secure a blank doll secondhand soon from a WTS I saw.

A couple months ago on ebay, I saw a used, but complete Iris Collect Petit Koharu Poppin Bunny Garden doll (the brunette) for a pretty good price, but I passed up on her because she was still a bit expensive to me for a doll I didn't love, and I thought she might look strange next to my AZ02 since the dolls have different proportions despite being roughly the same size. I still have concerns about the different proportions thing, but I've really come around on the 1/3 Iris Collect Petits and would love to have one. I didn't realize just how good of a deal she was at the time, but now that I've looked into Iris Collect Petits, I should've just grabbed her. Maybe next time lol

Not quite the same, but I somewhat regret not considering preordering either the Meiko or Megurine Luka Dollfie Dream. I've been a Vocaloid fan for like 15-ish years now, and I've never especially been a Meiko or Luka fan, but something about them really scratches part of my brain juuust right. I don't own any Dollfies though, and they're so expensive that the only way I can realistically see myself getting over the price and purchasing one is if I ever went to go do Dream Choice (or caving and doing Dream Choice via proxy..), so I don't think not preordering was the wrong choice, but I worry I'll regret it one day lol
