DD body shape?

Recommended Posts

DollsnBooks

I have 2 Smart Dolls and they have pretty severe scoliosis, which is kind of a pain for clothing. I didn't find it super evident from the pics, but when I handle and dress them, it's definitely a thing. Are DDs pretty much the same shape, or are they different?

PS not hating on my girls, just interested if all vinyl SD are roughly that shape.

Not quite sure what you mean, so it's hard to answer.

I find DDs stand straight, and pose pretty much how you want them to; at least within the limits of the frame's design.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

DD are much less sway-backed if that's what you are thinking of.
I hate trying to pose my smartdolls because of the very exaggerated arching thing.

That said, my DD girls look.. really awkward.. without clothing - something about how the pieces fit and proportions. My smartdoll girls are prettier in that regard.

None of my DD's tend to bend backwards! They are not difficult to handle imo, it's mostly a matter of getting used too.

Imo, the DD lower torso itself is probably the source of this, it's waist is so tiny in comparison to the hips. Personally, I don't feel the DDS and DDdy have that issue. That being said, Volks did announce the DD 2.0 which has a lot of aesthetical improvements! However, the Smartdoll does have the seam at the bust versus the DD's waist joint so I guess that's moreso a matter of preference.

if your dd bends backwards they're either sick or they've lost their bones

To be fair, Volks has just redone the DD body to do the 'Shawshank" pose like the new MDD can do, that's pretty backwards!

Yes, that's what I'm referring to. :) They're pretty, but awkward in that regard.
