Dollfie Dream Sakura Miku 2.0

As a minor collector of Miku and a major collector of Dollfies, I enjoy the Miku releases, I just wish the reboots would be a little different. NT thrilled me because of the different design of the outfit and faceup. I'd like to see more of that if Volks is going to continue rereleasing the vocaloids. Give us some different styles! That being said, I'd love to see some more different Dollfies all together.

It would be neat to see differences between the rereleases, but I do think it would be pretty controversial. I know I’d be mad if I fell in love with a doll, heard she was getting a rerelease, and then saw that they changed up what I liked about them in the first place. It would be neat for the people that already had them, but potentially devastating for those that don’t lol.
 

Speaking a bit on the Miku-fatigue tho, I am curious how much more Volks can release/rerelease her. They’ve already done all her main versions (+ NT) and rereleased them all too (not yet for Sakura, but point stands). It seems like Luka really is the last vocaloid that should get any rerelease soon. I know that I am biased as a Miku lover, but I know this whole thing has to be very annoying for non-Miku fan dollfie collectors. My hope is that maybe they will start on other popular virtual singers next. I mean, Teto Kasane seems to be incredibly popular right now. I think she has a lot of potential as a DD, honestly. But, what I think is most likely is that Miku will just be released again and again forever. That all said, I’m looking forward to preordering a Sakura Miku soon lol.

We kind of are going into unknown territory here, huh? (well. When is that not the case for Volks).

It seems they've done 2 runs of each older miku to give decent opportunity for people who want Miku to get her. She's absolutely a character they receive questions about all the time. But maybe after 2 they'll stop/switch it up? Has volks ever done 3 re-releases of the same model before in recent memory?

(I'm only speaking software based virtual singers here , I know some people use virtual singers for Vtubers)? When it comes to other characters, it's a bit tricky because there are not many vocal synths companies who have the resources or merch output level as Crypton and their 6 characters.

And, also, that some of the companies decide to go elsewhere? I would have thought Yukari to get a Dollfie if she received a doll. But instead her company went with Dolk for a realistic and anime release.

Teto is way more likely though,  while Crypton don't own her, the company behind teto (twindrill) have a connection , so would probably go to them for help regarding a Dollfie release.

I think Miku is the only one who has been frequently rereleased recently. Though they have done quite a few iterations and releases for Saber from the fate series, and its seems the idolmaster series is one they release dolls for frequently as well. 

I feel like they release Miku so often because she is super popular and most likely has the highest sales. Cryptons licensing may be more laxed as well, seeing as they let Volks frequently rerelease and make more Cryptonloid dolls so often.

I won’t mind if they keep re-releasing Vocaloids forever as long as they stop taking spots from new releases. I’ve said this a million times, but I really want them to re-release the 7th Dragon Miku outfits they did a few years ago!

So im assuming that if US customers order from volks japan now the tariffs will screw us over? Im hoping sakura isn't significantly cheaper on the japanese site compared to the US because most things have been.

I believe so, honestly. I'm probably not going to pre-order her now due to this, and I suspect many collectors in the USA won't either (if these even go through, who even knows by this point). I might be wrong on this, but wouldn't the Volks US site make her price even higher after these tariffs? Since they will most likely be taking into account that new expense? What a mess. I am very glad I have already gathered most of my dream dolls right now. Needed to slow down on buying stuff anyways.

With the popularity of Mesmerizer and a few other Miku/Teto duo songs lately, plus the general Teto popularity boom, I wonder if they really will do her. I think she'd be very cute as a DDS!

I'd love to see a Teto DD(S), Pokemiku/Project Voltage also did an April 1st special for her.

The most popular non-crypton Vocaloid/Synth is probably still Gumi? Luo Tianyi also got a decent amount of figures in the last few year, but she's a Chinese Vocaloid.

So Dolpa was today (technically yesterday, since it’s after midnight now), and Volks came prepared this time! I think everyone who wanted a Sakura Miku got one, and I hope this bodes well for everyone trying for the After Party.

I decided to buy Sakura Miku off Yahoo auctions to avoid any uncertainty around tariffs.  She is on her way over now (just in time!). It wasn't just the price I was concerned about but also the lack of consistency and process.  There are a lot of online stores that have suspended orders from the US for that reason

Same here! Buyee ran a 12% off coupon for mercari a couple days ago. Including shipping I paid around $720, she should arrive this upcoming Monday. Outside of the tarrif situation, it's neat to receive her now instead of waiting until winter.

Ooh congrats on your purchase! I've been loving all the pics I have seen of her on X from Dolpa attendees, you all who got her second-hand are in for a big treat.

But yeah. Those darn, dirty, stupid tariffs </3. I am holding out to hear what Volks USA will be doing for her in all honesty. Someone in the comments on her MyFigureCollection page said that they emailed Volks USA about it and were told they did plan on selling her, but didn't give them any further details. Sooo, I am choosing to believe their comment and will wait it out til they officially announce something. Hopefully she'll be around what NT was from them, but who really knows right now. If she does end up costing significantly more, I'm just gonna end up skipping her entirely.

EDIT: Looks like Sakura Miku's order page went up today on the JP site. Full payments only, no down payment option. Oof! I always went with the split payments not gonna lie, seems like a popular option too. Most likely will be the same for the USA if this is the route their going for JP. Good to know now tho!

We chose insanity, so it's our own fault.

My tribe are coming round to the idea of preordering Sakura Miku.

We'll pay for her out of everyday cost savings (i.e. drinking Ram's grass tea and eating a lot of leeks 🥬). Those small savings soon add up.

Bummed there is no down payment option - I'll have to push some other purchases back, I don't want to deal with her aftermarket

I do like that since she has already been released by Volks it is easier to see owner pictures and decide before the preorder opens.  Thanks for sharing!
