Practice heads

Recommended Posts

Lala Lolita

Hi guys!

So I just bought an Obitsu 50cm head, because it was a good price, to practice face-ups on. I know it's not a DD, but do you think showing samples on it would suffice?

Also, who else buys practice heads? Are they always DD?

I think if the vinyl is similar, using an Obistu head sounds like a great idea for practicing. I have seen a couple people say they were looking for practice heads. It sounds like the best way to get used to doing faceups.

Yeah that's what I thought. I saw it for $25 and I said to myself "PERFECT" I won't mind scrubbing it of time after time.

I think the only difference is that the Obitsus feel softer, where most DD are a harder vinal, but now there are a couple soft heads. I was also a beginner when i got to paint a friends DD, so I really didnt get to paint it like anything special, but it was what she wanted XD.

I do want to start just painting head again, i just right now keep putting off getting them. I have a wonderous plan for one..its just destined for a DD head so i need to just set aside the 50 bucks.

I do have a gretel i can practice on hmm.

This is my work for a commission on a gretel head. I do feel at times its easier to use watercolor pencils on the vinal (which i dont though have any in this pic) but i have use them before.

I got a practice head from a complete derp moment, I was ordering my DD's wig and I somehow ended up in the 'attached wig' section. Soooo I got a wig attached to a head. Needless to say, it's ruined from my faceup fails now
