Soundwave is incredibly pretty! I really love his wig! I suspect I’ll have similar issues whenever I get my boy together haha.

Thanks so much! It's definitely bound to happen lol. I got the wig on LegendDoll! They have a lot of cute, styled wigs

How did I miss an update showing Soundwave? I'm delighted, I've sent a link to the photos to my bestie. He looks great, the ears and the hair sell the helmet look (and then there's the facemask, to get really iconic.) If you were up in Dallas, does that mean you'll be in Austin for BJDC? Debating bringing Shockwave as my con doll, as she's nice and light...

@Cryptid thanks so much! Sadly, I don't have plans to attend BJDC, but hopefully our dollies can meet some day! I heard about a new doll convention happening in Killeen next year tho, and we may be applying to a table there. I'll find the name and let you know!

Ooh, hadn't heard of a con for Killeen, that's definitely of interest. At we know the state has a healthy population of doll collectors?

Nines' new outfit makes him feel a little shy, but he'll get used to it, I'm sure! He's ready for the next time we ever table lol

Well, I'm clumsy and dropped one of Soundwave's ears which broke the antenna clean off. It was too troublesome to fix, so I just removed the other. He doesn't need antennae lol. Anyway, here he is in his new tracksuit and with the gun that will become Megatron! I just need to decide what I want to use to make the parts. Gotta be light so honestly probs going with model magic.

(Actual conversation at Dollcon:

Person: "I love your Soundwave!"

Person2: "But where's Megatron? :<"

Me: "Ok, so. I literally just bought a gun."

Both: "YAAASSSS!")

I am once again delighted. Guessing you'll be making the extra bits from his animation model/the original toy?

Yup! I think it shouldn't be too hard to do and hopefully won't take me too long lol. I do have a bunch of other projects tho, so it just depends on when I get to it.

Anyway here's Soundwave with completed Megatron!

I dunno if anyone cares but I'm gonna tell you what I used anyway. I had pictures of one of the toys for reference because I could get a good view of several angles. I also wanted all adds to be as lightweight as possible.

Scope on top: paper straw wrapped in thin craft foam (the kind you get easily at Michael's/craft stores). The back end is a smooshed half of a packing peanut for the core structure (glued to the straw), and then wrapped a piece of craftfoam on the back half of the peanut. I used hot glue to fill in the bottom half to create the smooth angle. Painted it all black. I needed some height, so I added a simple rectangle of craft foam painted silver to the bottom.

The Silencer(..?): is a little piece of plastic tubing. I think it may have once been a paintbrush cover. Glued on and painted silver.

The gun itself is 3D printed, which I of course painted the proper colors and added a little heart to stand in for the Decepticon symbol (as many a fanartist are wont to do) cuz I wasn't gonna attempt that in tiny. If I ever find some stickers that are about nail art size, I'll totally stick them on, but for now.. 💜
