DollsnBooks Posted May 7 (edited) I'd love to buy a UFdoll Drink Series blind box but I'm worried about paying 200% more in tariffs, which I just can't afford to do. Has anyone had anything arrive recently from KikaGoods? Are these being affected? Edited May 7 by DollsnBooks spelling as usual
seth Posted May 7 I apologise for butting in here - I’m not in the US - but KikaGoods sends from China so I think they would be. They’re just a reseller. They actually mark up the prices of their dolls quite a bit and the same ones can be found on Aliexpress for slightly cheaper, and with the option to buy them pre-opened to confirm the style. DollsnBooks Posted May 7 Not butting in at all! I really appreciate the chiming in! People on My Figure Collector have so far not been hit on things coming in in May, but I don't know if it's affected by order date. It's too big of a gamble to just buy and find out the hard way though. 😟
Epona Posted May 11 If you're buying from Japan, you should be OK as long as it's under $800, as de minimis is still in affect for everyone but China (for now). If it's over $800, it'll get dinged by 10% + a relatively small customs processing fee, unless it is considered a "formal" import (worth over $2,500, if memory serves), where the processing fee is $32 in addition to the 10% tariff. China is super rough to order from right now, due to the massive tariffs and the $100+ minimum. I'm in a bit of an awkward spot too, since I have small studio outfits that I preordered months ago. I've heard good things about shipping smaller-value parcels via Yanwen Express who allegedly pay the import fee beforehand + apparently pack their packages in such a way in bulk that it makes the tariff quite a bit cheaper vs the $100 minimum fee per parcel (so your $25 doll might be a prepaid $45+ doll as opposed to $125...), although I haven't gotten any packages from Yanwen since de minimis was removed, so I can't speak from experience. Non-doll related but I do have some youtooz products on preorder, too, and their FAQ currently claims that "you will not be charged upon delivery as we pre-paid the duties" so it's possible that Youtooz might be using yanwen (or someone similar) to help reduce the $100+ minimum tariff hit on individuals, too. It definitely seems weathering the tariff hit focuses a lot on sheer bulk.

Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
