Project Digimon

Making a sorta project journal for what has been a weird dolly project idea for a while, but I now have 3 dolls in varying stages of done for this so guess it's happening.
I will add pix later as plan to take some once I finish the face up for the last of the trio.

So to explain my madness er project, I am an 80s/90s kid and when Digimon came out in the US I fell hard into it one more fandom for my list.

My favorite Digimon being Wormmon, Gatomon/Tailmon (her evolution Angewomon), and Lady Devimon. (Also Gabumon and all his forms, but he isn't getting a doll form right now.)

I've been collecting toys my whole life, into customing Barbies, other dolls and Action figures since I was and kid, and got into BJDs and Vinyls dolls over 16 years ago. When I was 16ish I tried to make my own Lady Devimon action doll, it came out ok for my skills then and the figure used. 

Between ADHD and jumping hyperfocus and many years between point A and point B, and we get to me many months back, around having my doll interest swing a little more into anime styled faces again (my tastes are all over the board, and I love many styles.) and also a big jump in number of vinyl dolls and girl dolls in the house. This lead to me to looking for styling ideas and see some really neat girls and boys out there as well as seeing dolls that are humanized My Little Ponies, Pokemon, Transformers, and even I'm pretty sure a Gundom or two. Somewhere in between that and wanting to rewatch all of Digimon (while also showing it to my S.O. for the first time) a weird gear clicked. My brain went.... Vampire Anime style Transcendence needs a name right? and a theme right? If doll of Eevee out there, and doll of Twilight Sparkle why not make Lady Devimon, but more humanized?

 

So here we are me with 3 humanized Digimon dolls all in different staged of finished.

We have in no real order.

Angewoman (or Angie as a short name) a SmD Valiant Anime style, milk skin, with push up bust, and her default blue eyes. She needs a yellow blonde wig, a bitter casual outfit, some battle armor and maybe some wings and a battle outfit.

Lady Devimon (or Devi) a SmD Anime style Transcendence, cinnamon skin, with a mid bust. She has Obitsu red anime eyes, and a long white wig. She needs a better casual outfit, she needs chains and armor and something close to the character's outfit in the anime. (She also wants to be a spoiled doll, but like I have too many of those already and she's not the favorite of this group)

And lastly the favorite (and the lone boy so far) Wormmon, he is a SMD blank anime head in green, on the default green body he stole from my green SmD Transcendence (who now has a SmD green peachy body). What he needs, me to do his face up, me to 3D print a flat bust or male bust. A green wig, me to put in his blue anime SmD eyes. A green and pink outfit, maybe more then one green and pink outfit. So far he has a full body, and his head has been sealed, he has pink boots.

 

I might maybe one day think of adding more Digimon dolls to this list depending on how this project goes.
It's weird, but I'm weird so I love it. I will update this thread with in progress pix as I take them.

I'm excited I'll be working on Wormmon's face up the next few days (Got to wait 24 hours for sealant to fully dry) I'm really hoping to have them all in a state of good or good enough by the weekend as going to a Doll meet next Sat.
As I do not have any pix of them so far I will leave this Wormmon image that is my main face up ref for eyeliner and colors.

I wasn't really into Digimon (I was/am a pokemon kid) but i still recognize a handful of them, and this sounds like a super fun project! I look forward to seeing the progress
