alinekodesu Posted Sunday at 02:31 PM (edited) DD-f3 Body VS DD-f3 2.0 Body A discussion My first DD-f3 2.0 girl was Konosuba’s Aqua, she’s beautiful, flexible, takes on any challenge or pose I can think of, and I didn’t notice the divot in the back of her neck until months after unboxing her My second DD-f3 2.0 (bust and frame) girl was my custom Kasane Teto, with some DDs modifications. Her head continuously falls forward, but usually very slowly. I added the “O” shaped rings to her neck peg, both beneath her head and inside of her head, tightening the head snug in one spot as much as possible, but over time they become loose again. I assumed this was just because of how heavy her wig is, and no fault to the body or frame itself. My third DD-f3 2.0, and most troublesome girl, is Sakura Miku. She is brand new, I won her in Volks’ lottery at Dollpa 53 (in the photo below, the 2.0 body is wearing my original Sakura Miku’s customized head) Even after tightening her neck joint while avoiding over tightening, adding “O” shaped rings and securing her head as much as possible, her head continuously falls backward, sometimes at a 90° angle thanks to the divot in the back of her neck meant for head pose flexibility. I had to balance her head and neck perfectly for each pose, or the weight of her pigtails will pull her head back. It’s gotten to the point where I’m considering creating an “O” shape with sticky tack to hold the neck peg in place, but I’m not even sure how well that will hold her head in place since the joint is still moveable. Has anyone else had this issue? Edited Sunday at 05:01 PM by alinekodesu
Tasuke Posted Sunday at 04:57 PM Both of my AZONE AZ02-Based Girls have Busts in the more Rigid newer OBITSU Vinyl Formulation, so, if anything; i have a somewhat hard time getting their Heads/Necks to stay for long in any other Position outside of a Neutral, "Vertical and Straight Ahead" sort of orientation...
GirlWiththeDragoonTattoo Posted Sunday at 11:54 PM My mom's MDD 2.0 is having that "neck drifting back" problem! For now, I have fixed it with a couple of silicone disk/kips on the peg inside the head. I pushed them down as snugly as possible, and for now at least it has stopped the drifting back. She hasn't really handled her since, though, I can't say if it's perfectly fixed or not. I imagine with movement, the kips may eventually chacha slide up. (Or it only fixes it while stationary)
cheerycherry Posted Monday at 02:10 PM I have the same floppy neck issue with my MDD 2.0 Mochi Ashi. The stand I use isn't extremely sturdy so I always have to push her head back and slightly downward on the neck peg lest her head flops forwards and makes her faceplant from the force (hasn't happened yet but I worry about it). I also have this with another MDD 2.0 body but it's not as extreme, and my DD 2.0 and other MDD 2.0 don't have it. So seems like it varies.

If that doesn’t work, the next step is sticky tack! Lol also, it’s super cool that you and your mom are both into doll collecting! I showed my mom my collection, she was the person who introduced me to anime, and she was so surprised by their cost!

I wonder if balance is the most important factor for the more finicky girls, and how Volks takes perfect photos of every 2.0 girl Edited yesterday at 04:25 AM by alinekodesu
GirlWiththeDragoonTattoo Posted 17 hours ago Yeah sticky tack will be next for her as well lol. I'll have to poke my mom about handling her some more to see how it's working. And it is cool! She was initially shocked by the price but once she saw my first resin boy she understood why lol. It's a fun hobby we enjoy together now and I'm super grateful about that 🥰
