Could there ever be a LINK DOLLFIE DREAM? Or a Sephiroth DD?

Hey guys we see that Dollfie has a relationship with Sqaure Enix. Do you think they will ever do a Sephiroth or Cloud Dollfie Dream? Tifa or Aerith Dollfie? Or do you think because there is a Play arts Line for FF7 they would never make them into Dollfies?

Also my dream is to have a Link (From the Legend of Zelda series) Dollfie Dream. I have even written an email asking if they would consider making one, Volks said they informed their planning team. I honestly think I would faint if they made a Link Doll. lol. If you want a Link Dollfie Dream please email them too if you want, the more who request I think the more they might think about it!

I have seen some really cool unofficial Links, like one I think Sf Sakana has looks cool. 

Anyway what do you think? Do you think my dream will ever come true?

I think Tifa and/or Aerith would be much more likely. I doubt we'd ever see a Sephiroth since they're reluctant to do males. Especially since Seph is quite more on the muscular side (while not huge), I highly doubt it. Cloud would be more likely than him.

Link would be more the type they'd be willing to do, too. They do seem to prefer releasing their boys alongside a girl, so if they were to make a Zelda, we'd likely have a Link with her.

That being said, I think DCH-26 would make a great fan made Link. I might make a cosplay for mine 🤔 Halloween will be upon us sooner than you think

I think you're right about Sephy, infact I think Sephy would be more of a Super Dollfie than anything. If you do make the cosplay I'd like to see it  I think it's be cool.

 

They seem to be putting more effort into boys recently with the addition of male bodies to D’Coord and the new boyish DDH-29 makeup. I hope they make a buff uncle-like body now that they’re making 2.0 versions of all the bodies, so maybe Sephiroth, Cloud or Link could be a possibility in the future, but the Square Enix dolls would likely be in the semi-real style (which I am not a fan of).

If there is a boy 2.0 I'll be so happy if it looks more "boyish/masculine" in comparison to the girl bodies.

 

With Sephiroth, why do I get the feeling they'd go with Super Dollfie? (What's the deal with that anyway? I'm honestly not well versed with how/why they pick. I remember seeing something about it being the demographic they think the characters appeal to? But yh. Would be interesting to know why Ranma 1/2 is SD while revolutionary girl Utena is DD for example).

 

As for Link, I guess that mostly depend on Nintendo. Volks would probably be more than happy to make DDs for Nintendo IPs.

There's already a DD Tifa outfit available here. If Volks made her you just know the outfit would be a stain monster 😪.

Of course Volks only make new dolls after I buy custom outfits for my dolls (it happened with Takina and Chisato and Fern). If this prediction tool is anything to go by then the next DD will be Hitori Gotoh and Ai Hoshino. Outside bet is Ui Shigure because it's a long time since they released a really cool character MDD.

I'll play devils advocate and say, if there's a world where we see an official Link DD release, it might be a Toon Link on the Chimikko body...

Chimikko Toon Link would be absolutely hilarious and would probably do really well. Especially if he had a lot of little weapons

While I do think Square Enix is one of the few companies that could encourage Volks to make a larger male body (I'd love to see even an SD13-sized DD boy), I think any FFVII dolls would probably be resin, just because Volks tends to market Super Dollfies more towards a female audience. Honestly, though, I don't think Volks would be the best choice, since their semi-real faces tend to be more rounded and youthful looking. DD 9S is cute, but he looks like a 12-year-old to me. Link is a more likely possibility, especially BotW/TotK Link, who could probably use the DD or DDS boy body.

If you're looking for Sephiroth specifically, I have seen a few resin BJDs based on him, though generally in the 70cm+ size range.

I was actually really disappointed that they made Ranma not be a male Dollfie Dream :0. I thought Shampoo came out great as a Super Dollfie tho.

I would love a Toon Tink Chimikko , Toon Zelda and Tetra, you're threatening me with a good time haha they'd be all so cute. Gosh, it feels like Volks is leaving a lot of money on the table. I wonder if their relationship with Square Enix will stop them doing nintendo's IPs

Interesting points you make. I'm easy in that I will take any kind of Link Volks would make at this point haha

It makes me think I should start saving just incase they ever release them

Leaning Just as Hard as they possibly Can into the Fluffy, Adorable Proto-Moe Style of the Late-80's/1990's Original Anime...

If we ever see Nintendo licensed dolls, we will probably see Princess Peach and Samus first. Because they're female characters after all and Volks acts like releasing male dolls is a chore, a curse and they're being held on gunpoint or something...

I would love a Princess Peach Dollfie dream lol, but ofc I would want them to do a Link much much more. I do wonder why male dolls aren't as popular. I guess when I look at my collcetion I have 50/50 girls and boys

My first guess for a Nintendo-related IP would be Pokemon. The aftermarket for the TCG cards of some trainers can be quite scary, I think the one with the highest prices is Lillie? Could release her together with Ash and then add Pikachu + eeveelution onesies.

I could actually see that! There is plenty of girls. And a couple have the Pokécontest outfits that would be really cute. (As a side note: The Dreamy Unicorn set actually makes me think of those outfits. I have one of my girls wearing it and I was thinking of changing her character to a Pokemon trainer because of it lol)
