Hanyuu Posted Tuesday at 01:11 PM Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew of any good alternatives to Volks' wig mist/treatment mist, unfortunately US shipping is quite expensive so I was hoping there may be a good alternative I could use!
puxlavoix Posted Tuesday at 07:47 PM The clear liquid stuff used to clean vinyl records, that comes in dropper or spray is the exact same stuff, like literally smells the same and makes sense since it has the same use which is static free cleaning. Hope that helps! 1

Gallye Posted Wednesday at 04:12 AM I'd assume that any styling spray meant for synthetic-hair human wigs would work well, too. I mean, it's (usually) a similar fiber, just larger! Searching for 'synthetic wig spray' and picking something that smooths/detangles/defrizzes should get you something that works well. If you feel like you need a lot, take the wig off the doll and spray it that way, then push the fibers around; if you only need a little, spritz it on your fingers and smooth it on that way.

Everyone’s mileage may vary, but I use it mainly for long, straight wigs or very light curls. I’d say use it sparingly, as if it were just water, to tame those pesky loose strands or maybe to give a full refresh to a neglected wig, because it mostly makes them shine and look tidy again, if that makes sense. I wouldn’t use a lot of it though, because, you know, wig caps may bleed. As for styling per se, I highly recommend this one called “Fatboy” water wax, which can be bought on Amazon. Long story short, it’s basically the same thing as Volks water wax (sorry, I forgot the exact name). It’s 100% alcohol-free, clear, non-greasy, and totally safe like the Volks product, and very cost-effective because one jar lasts ages. (I got mine in 2020 and haven’t even gone through half with 20 girls.) 1
