first ever faceup

after a whole year of procrastinating, i finally decided to make my own dollfie of my long-term OC 'Snow'! i've never had a doll at all before but always been interested

i got the MSC down which was a bit scary since ive heard so much abt it messing up but it ended up fine... now i'm just nervous about mirroring the eye area >_>

and my reference i drew on my ipad...

Ooh, that is looking really promising! I love the concept sketch you're working from and so far the transfer onto the actual head looks good. I'm excited to see the paint! ❤️

i think i may be finished!
i was too intimidated to do the lower lashes and blush lines, scared that id ruin it... the white paint was super hard and didnt turn out as smooth as i wanted, very streaky and clumps but im not sure how to fix that >_> but im still happy since this is my first ever attempt and i already want to make another doll, so it can only go up from here ~

I want to say that the paint is clumpy because they expected you to thin it down with water or paint thinner before putting it on. (I don't actually know if you did!) Basically it's supposed to be about the consistency of milk, so... one drop of paint, one drop of water, maybe? Enough to make it a slightly-thick liquid, not a blob. Then you can put on an extra layer if you need to.

i did use paint thinner, but maybe it wasnt enough >_> ill be sure to add a little extra next time! tysm for the help ^_^

I wouldn't have thought this was your first faceup if you didn't say so! It looks good. I think a lot of people struggle with paint thinness/thickness in the beginning. I'm sure you'll figure it out the next time(s), your other lines look thin enough on the picture after all.

Have you tried putting eyes in yet to see how the faceup looks with them? Asking because I'm curious, too.

Please do! I'd also be interested in the kind of fashion you'll dress him up in. Not sure if you showed that off in the beginning. The pictures aren't working anymore for some reason.
