Kemonomimicry Posted September 10 Anytime I take pictures of my dolls it somewhat annoys me that the surface they're on usually doesn't look realistic because it is either out of scale or obviously a shelf or tabletop. Ikea makes a product named Rödeby that is a flexible armrest tray you can drape over a seat armrest. However, it can also be used as fake flooring for doll photoshoots, as its looks and dimensions are quite good for 1/3 to 1/4 scale. It is made from bamboo slats approx. 2.2 cm wide, corresponding to 6.5 to 9 cm at 1:1 scale, like a proper wooden floor. The mats are 65 x 37 cm each, making them large enough to host 1-3 dolls in close proximity on a single mat. They're also easy to store, and quite cheap (9.99 Euros a piece). There are two colours available, unpainted, and black. Today I bought three of the unpainted ones, and I will probably be getting three more.
