Up to date MDD shoe sources?

So I tried deep-diving the search function, and didn't find much, and looking at measurements on Denver Doll, Alice's, and AliExpress, I keep running into one of two problems: not wide enough (made for slim, differently proportioned BJD feet) or American Girl-style shoes that are way too wide. After all that searching, I figured I might as well make a post asking: where's your favorite, currently operational store/seller/what have you to get shoes for MDDs or mochi ashis? I'm also trying to avoid pleather, if I can, because I know it's only a matter of time before it self-destructs.

I don't know exactly... so i'm sorry if this doesn't help much- but I personally like some of the work from dealers ive seen on Taobao!

What kind of shoes are you looking for Heels/Maryjanes or something more contemporary? 

I buy a lot second hand since I can't keep up with preorders/popular items 😭- but I think checking rednote/xhs for what dolls are wearing could help! A lot of people credit the brands they like, or give feedback about items and quality. Brands also post their preorder images and stock in advance. If you find something you think looks good you can search the brand. 

I've been idly browsing Taobao to see about options, but even there it seems like the pleather situation is inescapable. (I've ordered some shoes since making this post and have resigned myself to 'well, at least I'll get practice salvaging them in a few years.) What I've ordered so far is cute heels and a more hiking-style boot; the latter looks to be a faux suede and should hopefully hold up better over time.

... I really never noticed how much pleather people use. Even all of the shoes I own are made of it. 💔😭 Despite that, I enjoy Elecric Shaver shoes & CloudDoll brand for something generally quality. ( Only downside is they need to be bought second hand/there haven't been any drops in a while. ) Cloud Doll actively is working on clothing @ taobao and xhs so she might develop more shoes in the future too.

Jane has a few listed on her website. I've never ordered shoes from her- but i'm sure you could image search the brands to see how they look on a real mmd.

Obitsu/Azone 50 shoes also work (some of their pleather also seems to be less likely to self-destruct than whatever Volks uses)

@bunnene Thank you for all the links! I haven't tried any silk(en) shoes like the ones in the links yet, but it's something I'll keep in mind for an option. (Though it's those faux suede boots that catch my eye for winter outfits.)

 

@Kemonomimicry That's an option I hadn't even thought of looking at. But yeah, from what I've read it seems like Volks' pleather is...delicate, to put it mildly.
