VeraDolls Posted October 12, 2025 So I've been into this hobby for quite a while now. A few years back I bought a DDS Semi-White body off of Mandarake, then left it in my closet for ages. However, just a few weeks ago, I saw a DDH-09 head on Dollyteria with a really nice faceup. She was affordable ($90 CAD, which is maybe $65 USD?) and I loved the style of her faceup. The literal DAY I tried to order her, Canada post proceeded to go on strike. However, because they aren't on nationwide strike anymore, I decided to order her today! I don't know who her faceup artist is. All her description said was "ヴィ様カスタム", or "Custom by V". I have clothes and a wig all picked out for her, and she's gonna have dog ears and a tail too. She's supposed to arrive sometime this month and I'm super excited, especially because my other vinyl dolls are 1/6. I love them to bits, but I can't wait to have a full sized DDS! I'll be posting regular updates to this thread as her parts, clothing and accessories come in!

VeraDolls Posted October 12, 2025 Wow, thanks! I checked out their account and I actually found some photos of my girl! She looks really pretty, I’m even more excited for her to get here now.
Lunah05 Posted October 12, 2025 That's really exciting! If i had to guess, I'd say your DDS body is most likely to be a DDIII since i see them all over the place (sometimes for pretty cheap). Can't wait to see pics of her!!
Giallo_Gatta Posted October 14, 2025 The head you chose looks lovely, I look forward to seeing her all together.
VeraDolls Posted October 17, 2025 Exciting update on the DDS head! I got the tracking number and she’s arriving from Japan on the 23rd. Feels like so close yet so far!
Tasuke Posted October 17, 2025 (edited) I Just Got my very own DDS Myself... just a couple/three days ago, in fact~ She was the Previous Owner's Custom... and i've got a Care Package all lined up over at VOLKS U.S. for first thing next month, that will finish Dialing her right in to my personal tastes~ Edited October 17, 2025 by Tasuke
VeraDolls Posted October 21, 2025 Latest updates: I've named my DDS! Her name is Laika, after the Yakutian Laika dog breed! It's also a very common dog name in Russia. It's not usually a name for humans, but she's a doll (and has dog ears and tail), so it doesn't matter much. Her head has arrived in my city. She'll be arriving either later today or tomorrow! Her wig, ears, and tail are still a little while coming but I have a temporary wig for her for now.
VeraDolls Posted October 22, 2025 (edited) SHE ARRIVED LAST NIGHT! Her faceup is even more beautiful in person. It's gonna take a while to get used to her sheer size (her head is like, the size of a tennis ball), but I love her so much! Sorry for the low-quality photo. I'll make sure to keep updating this thread as things like her permanent wig come in! Edited October 26, 2025 by VeraDolls

VeraDolls Posted October 23, 2025 Oh thanks for letting me know! Sorry about that, I’ll try fixing it in a bit.
VeraDolls Posted October 23, 2025 (edited) Taking longer to fix than I thought, hopefully it should be good soon! Edited October 23, 2025 by VeraDolls
Lavux Posted October 23, 2025 Ooh, she looks so refined! Beautiful faceup. It's so fun to assemble your own Dollfie. That's what I did for Naru ^^ Thankfully there's a lot of people selling their stuff on Vinted over here.
VeraDolls Posted October 26, 2025 The image is fixed and should be displaying properly, but I have an unfortunate update. While looking closely at her body, something I had neglected to do for years, I discovered small, pinprick sized spots on her torso, alongside many other issues like scuff marks, a gouge under her breast, worse staining than what I thought, what appears to be cotton super glued to the inside of her torso, and superglue marks on the body. After some googling, I found out the spots are called pindot mold. It's a common occurrence on old My Little Ponies, and I've never seen it documented on a Dollfie before. It's basically just dirt that's become embedded in the pores of the vinyl, not true mold, and it doesn't go all the way through the body. It has no smell and can be removed. It likely also came from the clothing her previous owner put her in, which was clearly dark colored based on the sizing of the stains around her neck. I will document the process of removing the pindot mold from Laika's body, which will hopefully help anyone who ends up having the same issues.

VeraDolls Posted October 27, 2025 She's mostly cleaned off now! Some of the pindot can easily be removed by scrubbing the body with a magic eraser, but for the more stubborn bits, here's what I did: Put acne cream on the spots most affected by the pindot Wrap in Saran wrap Blast it with a hairdryer for a good 20-30 minutes Scrub off the acne cream Do another once-over with the magic eraser Scrub the entire body with gentle dish soap and a toothbrush This also managed to remove the majority of the staining on her back, a lot of the glue scuffs and all of the dirt! I'm quite happy with these results.
Lunah05 Posted October 27, 2025 She's very cute and refined! Hopefully you can get the spots off of her skin since they seem so small.
OwlishBree Posted February 7 She's so pretty! I'm thinking about getting a DDS as my first 1/3 doll, too. Did you adjust to her size okay? My only other 2 dolls are 1/6.
