Amoridere Posted October 16 I have the idea to do this and I've seen other people do it, so how do y'all hybridize your nendoroids with 1:6 bodies? Relatedly, what 1:6 (besides Obitsu) are most compatible? Thanks in advance. (I tried asking this on Reddit and got nowhere)
Tasuke Posted Friday at 03:39 AM (edited) I've been Using 11cm. YuMeng YMY Bodies to Upgrade all of my Nendo Dolls... as well as for converting my tiny handful of NENDOROIDs into Nendo Dolls themselves... Spoiler Edited Friday at 03:40 AM by Tasuke
MoiBakaDesu Posted Friday at 09:10 AM First, this is not the right place in the forum, so it would probably good if it could be moved? Second, yes YMY also has 1/6 scale bodies, but they are pretty mature, I think they would probably look a bit funny with stock GSC faceplates. I'm pretty sure Piccodo is also a good possibility for such a hybrid. But personally I only have experience with Obitsu and YMY for these sorts of 1/6 scale hybrids, and only with more mature artist faceplates.
plasticyears Posted Sunday at 07:44 AM I have used YMY before and they're fine, but sometimes the quality is a little variable, which is expected given the price. They were easy to use with the Nendoroid head. You also have the option of the official Nendoroid doll body. These have a big range of high quality Nendoroid brand outfits available, but their proportions are different/more petite than Obitsu 11 and so on, so they may not fit clothes intended for those bodies (for which there are many stores making cool clothes). My friend has a couple of these and likes them a lot. There is Obitsu 11, which I haven't tried, but seems to be popular. There is also Piccodo as the poster above me said, and they have a few different choices for size etc which is really nice, as you can have taller or shorter characters. Also, I did read that they were originally designed for making Nendo hybrids? So apparently it's very easy to attach the head to the body as well.
Amapola Posted Sunday at 05:08 PM I use Azone Pureneemo and Piccodo P20 bodies. There's several strung options on Taobao as well, but Azone and Piccodo are what I use. Azone will require for you to modify or swap out the neck joint though.
0bsequi0us Posted Sunday at 10:26 PM Maybe this is obvious (or maybe even unnecessary), but I used a 3rd party neck adapter for mine. It fits in the back of the head/hair piece just like the Nendoroid, but it allows the face to snap onto the Obitsu neck mechanism. They also make ones that work with s hooks and strung bodies, iirc.
