Tasuke Posted October 20, 2025 (edited) i've used BLU TACK to Secure the Eyes on all three of my Inset-Eyed Girls; a Dollfie Dream, an AZONE Iris Collect, and an IMOMODOLL Hybrid. i've Been Wondering, and Worrying lately; will BLU TACK Stain their Vinyl? i Especially Worry about my new Dollfie, as she's composed of a very Pungent-smelling, obviously Highly Pure Vinyl formulation... White tack has oils that can damage resin eyes. This happened to me, and when I reached out to the seller about it she recommended the blue stuff over the white stuff precisely because it doesn’t have these oils. Tasuke Posted October 20, 2025 (edited) Now THAT is a RELIEF. Thank You~ I Am SO Very Glad that i made the Right choice by Default. i bought a ton of BT for the sake of fixing Acrylic Anime Standees and Misc. Decorative Signage to Walls around the house that we just Moved into Early in 2025... and it has Worked so Well for that... that it only seemed Natural that the BT might very well also prove quite Ideal for my Hunnies' Inset Eyes~ Edited October 20, 2025 by Tasuke

Do you think Blu Tack is a better alternative to the SD eye putty then? :0 Edited October 23, 2025 by bunnene
Tasuke Posted October 23, 2025 (edited) Whatever the White stuff that was originally being used to hold Miyuki's Eyes in place actually was... it was For Sure Dry-ish, - Almost Crumbly - and had very little Tackiness to it. She came to me with a "Googly" look about her, and that ?Old? White Putty was at fault. i Replaced it completely with BLU TACK the same day that She Arrived... and her Eye Geometry has Held Fast since. Unfortunately, it’s quite expensive for the volume.
Monty Posted October 23, 2025 I’ve used blutac on my vinyl dolls for all nearly 10 years I’ve been in this hobby with no issue with staining or stickiness. I’ve seen the white poster tack stuff liquify inside dolls heads though. I do have that SD eye putty, and while it is expensive for the amount you get a small amount of it still goes quite a long way. However it works much better sticking to resin than vinyl so I never bothered using it in my DDs.(I always found it mysterious that it comes in different skin tones though, because it’s not supposed to be visible inside the head anyway??) 1 *twitter*instagram*art*
bubblysoda Posted October 23, 2025 I know Danny Choo recommended blu tack for Smart Dolls, so I started using after I bought my first smartie, I also use it in my dollfie dreams and it holds the acrylic or resin eyes really well, I haven't gotten any stains from it which is a relief. In some cases the eyes don't sit entirely flush against the head and there may be a gap through which the putty is visible. Then skin colour is preferable compared to white or blue-grey. Tbh since it’s inside the eye socket the more realistic option would be red lol 2 *twitter*instagram*art*
