Cryptid's photos

Because I wanted a place to show off one-off photos or outfits as they slowly progress. Case in point: 

 

The outfit that I messily sketched out is coming closer and closer to fruition! The tank top is one several I plan to swap out based on mood. I also have a dragon skulls jersey from Spoonflower that needs some last hemming and closures attached, and I'm waiting on a rib knit fabric to ship so I can make both a pale purple shirt and socks. Today I've finished up what I'm calling V1 of the jacket (with collar V3), as I expect I'll want to eventually go back and try again. But for the look I'm wanting, it works. 

 

So there is a series of Chinese blind bagged Transformers plushies, offering various G1 characters. I finally broke down and ordered two, figuring 1. they'd be perfectly sized for Shockwave and 2. I can turn doubles into Christmas ornaments with the magic of crochet.

You can also find them on Ebay, but I opted to go with AliExpress to save a little money. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to make a second order.

Glad to help people with the link! The crossover between Transformers and BJDs/Dollfies never fails to amuse me.

The weather here has been fluctuating between 80s and getting chilly, so I've been thinking cold weather clothes for stuff to make. Last night I started a crocheted hat and finished it up today:

Hair's just a regular ol' AliExpress wig; it took some hunting to get both the length and color I wanted, but I'm very happy with it. It's easy to smooth out (the forever bane of dolls, I swear...)

where did you find those bunny ears? they are adorable!

I made 'em! I drew up a pattern of what I thought would be the right size, and hand-sewed the minky and strechy, satiny-fabric together, because I knew the feed dogs on my machine would eat them. The stand up ears have bonsai wire in them, and both sets are attached to small hair clips with E6000. (Keeping them attached has been an ongoing experiment. So far, it's the E6000 that's actually held up.) 

I actually plan to work on making some new ones, as I'm not pleased with the shape of the one stand-up ear's edge and on the other the worbla I stuck the wire into is showing and it needs further stitching.

Squishable's anti-procrastination sale (and snow fairy bird) tempt me, so I decided to see how a mini looks when paired with a MDD. The verdict? Really cute.

 

Finished it at practically the last moment (or that's how it feels), but Shockwave's Christmas sweater and skirt are done.

Yep, girl! I was inspired by the Transformers bishoujo figures. If Kotobukyia can make 'em girls, I can too.

Ok, cool! For a Decepticon, she sure is cute. 

She doesn't find fun-sized drinks very fun. 

Posting belatedly, how Shockwave dressed when we got snow. And remains dressed, because it's February and ever since snowmageddon I spend the whole month in a state of paranoia.
