Hello from a resin collector!

Hi everyone, 

I've been the occasional lurker for several years now and finally gave in to the demon inside me that wants to venture beyond resin BJD.

I actually used to prefer DDs over BJD, and would stalk the Volks website as a kid (back when the US website actually had anything on it). I really wanted Mirai and Candy. Unfortunately I'm a bit late to come back to a lot of things like Azone, seeing as my taste is still in the street fashion scene and general aesthetic of the 00s. The customs I see now are so creative and fun though, and honestly MDD have the cutest outfits now!

I just bought an old Azone and that's my only step into vinyl at the moment. As for BJD, I have lost count of how many I have. 😅💀 I've been collecting them since 2016. But I love seeing what people do with their dolls, whether I would personally own them or not. I might as well stop lurking.

Hey, someone else who has resin!  I have a few resin BJD myself.  I also have quite a few of those blind-box BJDs, so if you'd like to try one out, I can always give pointers.

I actually have been interested in the blindbox BJD, I might have to take you up on that and message you sometime. So far they've been really cute but I often find myself wondering if I would be better off customizing a 1/6 obitsu or something. Of course, until this week I thought I was strong enough to keep resisting 1/6 dolls LOL

Also, I may or may not have bought a second Azone yesterday.

@most-Kasane-Teto-fan I chose the worst time to stop resisting Azone but I got a pure neemo Aoto and Himeno. I want a Black Raven Luluna Preface so bad though! I do love SD range dolls the most. 

*looking at Luluna Preface*  Wait a minute.  Is that a doll version of that anime goth girl picture that was everywhere in the 2000s?

Hard to resist something like that.

@TheL1985 If you mean this Hiro Suzuhira illustration of the anime girl with a cross, it's not the same but very much in the same ballpark of the aesthetics of that time for sure! I wear punk and egl clothes myself so recreating the outfit in human scale isn't too difficult. Baby The Stars Shine Bright and Metamorphose still release blouses like that quite regularly. 😎

There's actually a Pureneemo release that reminds me of the cross girl too - makes sense though since this was really in style.

Nice! I feel you I got two Black Raven girls early this year and had some trouble getting clothes for them but Azone still puts out some cute looking dolls and clothing so it's not too late!

@most-Kasane-Teto-fan Oh I'd love to see your Black Raven girls. I can imagine it's difficult because of the inbetween size... The girl pictured above is one of the recent Iris Collect Mini releases right? They're really so cute, especially the new year themed girl.

My first Azone Lilia black raven II and Second Cecily the darkness soul! The girl I sent was called Magical*Fluff I think? she's really cute. If any of your dolls have arrived yet love to see pics!

One of my dolls did come today, but his hair is still drying after I put on some Dollfie water wax so I'll post pictures to the Pure Neemo thread later.
