  • Find a wig that I actually like for my DDH-30 (I swear every haircut has felt wrong so far)
  • Acquire the correct bust for her (I cannot read)
  • Buy a body/outfit/etc. for at least one of the half-dozen heads I have laying around 😆
  • Buy the rumored Kotone Fujita if she's released!!

Acquire my first DD by buying all of the option parts separately and assembling her

Learn how to do proper faceups (I think I’m decent at it, but I need a set of those extra fine-tipped brushes for more precise details)

It may be a bit unrealistic, especially on my limited budget, but I’d like to acquire 2 or even 3 DD in total by the end of 2026. I have my heart set on adding one DDP and one MDD Mochi-Ashi to my doll family this upcoming year.

This is how I put my first doll together, and I'm really glad I did as it let me learn where all the frame bits and tighten locations are.  Good luck!

Thanks! I’ve disassembled and reassembled other vinyl anime dolls before, so hopefully the internal structure of Dollfie Dreams will be fairly easy to figure out. :)

Mine is a bit odd.  My goal is to get my 2 Smarties out of storage in another state so I can go back to sewing for them!

I had an ambitious 2025, and accomplished more than expected!

This year, I think I'm going to focus on the following:

1) More hands. There are never enough hands to go around.

2) More grayforce neck pegs. At this point, I actively resent having to pull heads off Volks pegs.

3) More wig styling. Gonna grab that one wig head you can stick pins in & a clamp stand from Taobao, because wigs sliding around on the head block & my existing stand toppling over are my biggest sources of frustration now. Edit: Acquired

4) Finish character dolls. I got a few dolls to use as bases for character dolls this year, and they're all kind of in "good enough" states. Right eye colour, right hair colour, close enough Volks/Dealer clothing, but they're not recognizable as the characters. I need to find more suitable eye designs, style wigs, and sew some clothes for them.

5) Organize the doll closet. I've been sloppy this year and need to get back into form. Playing with dolls is soooo much easier when I know where everything is. I just got my first SD17 this year, so I also need to clear some space for his clothing. Edit: Done. To be re-done in three months when I make a mess of it again. 😂

The blush has faded from my girls' face-ups, so when the weather warms up I'll be adding the blush back! But, I don't know a lot about how these things work, even the mdd I painted just a year and a half ago has lost her blush, do I need to buy new pastels in general? I've been using the same set of pastels for ages now.

I also might get back into sewing clothing. I had given up sewing and decided buying outfits was more worthwhile, but there might be a few things I want that I can't buy.

My plans from this year turned out pretty well (I should go take a look at my old post) so I don't have that many in mind.

#1 would be to assemble my two Corvus Corax body/AP head hybrids. Will be doing both faceups but assembling from purchased pieces otherwise.

#2 is to receive the resin dolls I have on layaway haha. Hopefully in the first half of the year. Adjacent to this would be getting better doll stands and allocating more space for them since I'm running out with how things are setup now.

I have a few "maybe" projects on the backburner, like getting my first nearly 70cm lady, doing a full OC resin doll, and trying really hard to get an AP full body (ideally I-type, but I like a lot of options). Also maybe the new DDdy body when it comes out, since I like the sculpt a lot.

There's also some blind box dolls that I'm sure will end up in my collection at some point as usual. 😇

I’ve been researching on the sidelines for a while, but 2026 we’re gonna make things happen!!

-Purchase my first DD (Either DDB or Mochi Ashi..depends)

-Practice doing my own faceups! After improving my art I feel more prepared of tackling it

-Finish my first doll! Probably a character doll to prevent me from stressing

-Find new friends/ good advice here! I’ve been struggling to find communities for DDs and I’m glad I found one now!

I’ve been working on a project to develop each doll into a character in my Free Lands world (dystopian future cyberpunk-inspired style): wig, eyes, outfit, accessories, character history and personality, profile (here or on DoA) and a portrait.

Of my vinyl crew (n=5), 3 are featured in the story I’m working on: Lily (DD-09), Dr. Mal (DDS-03) and Athena (Smart Doll Athena). For 2026, I plan to finish their characters: outfit, accessories, portrait. That seems doable, given that I have 9 resin dolls to finalize.

  • I have some new clothes ordered, so I want to put together a new outfit or two with them
  • Look at getting some spare hand poses for better pose variety
  • Do some more photographs outside; I enjoyed the first one I did recently but it's been too windy and wet since
  • Meet up with the friend who got me into dolls & photograph ours hanging out together
  • Repair my DLSR so I can get better photos than using my phone camera at present

-Slim down my collection

-Don't buy any dolls for 2026(yeah right lol)

-Focus on organizing my doll stuff, maybe getting more shelves and drawers for organizing clothing and accessories!

-Take and post more pictures!! I love interacting with this hobby, it brings me joy and I've really been slacking.

Oh; I Do Believe that i Need Help.  Did i Say that "Rena" (DDP Ribbon) would likely be my Final 1/3 Scale Hunnie?

Well; She hasn't even Arrived from VUSA yet... (Due Jan. 10th) and i've Already got Strong Tentative Plans

to Welcome a DDS Ranka Lee (MACROSS Frontier) into my Life in FEB.

Not only is she the MACROSS Franchises' very-own Puppy-Hunnie

but She'd be Perfect for wearing that To Heart 2 Sailor Suit Set that i have on a Generally-Permanent basis.

Finally; i'm a near-Life-Long MACROSS Fan... the Series being my Catalyst into Anime Fandom to Begin with; So it all Tracks Perfectly...

Like so many others, one of my goals for 2026 is to learn how to sew. I taught myself some basic hand sewing last winter, but never made anything doll related. I enjoyed hand sewing enough that I even bough a sewing machine, but I didn't use it much because my job was really busy from about June onwards. (This is first week since the middle of last year where there's no overtime and of course this is also the week where I finally took some time off lol) I have a couple patterns picked out for my Nendoroid dolls, and I stocked up on some fabric last year from when Joann's closed, so I just need to get past my fear of failure and start putting in the hours towards learning a new skill.

Similarly, I'm also interested in maybe giving leatherwork a try. I saw someone on Mercari who makes leather doll shoes and bags and they look so good! I feel like leather accessories could really heighten any outfits I'd make.

I also would like to learn how to replace the broken shoulder joint on my Azone 50cm girl. I bought her used last year and she was unopened, so the joint must have broken in transit. I just haven't bothered researching the process and buying the replacement joint yet. It intimidates me a bit to be honest lol

Then with purchases I'd like to make my the end of the year, I still don't own any hair styling products and I think it's getting to be about time I finally bite the bullet and order some. Combing only goes so far lol
And I'd really like to expand my collection to include another Azone 50cm and an Azone SugarCup! I have a few specific releases in my mind so fingers crossed they'll pop up for sale this coming year for reasonable prices.

One Thing i Can Stress with the Experience i've Accrued over the Entirety of 2025;

Dollfie Dream Bodies are Rock-Solid... with Excellent Physical Proportions and a Positive, Low-Fuss Design Overall.

* AZONE AZ02 Bodies, OTOH; Benefit from a Careful X-ACTO Shaving and Sanding of the Vinyl Shell Inner Surfaces

at the Joint Ends Throughout... as well as a full Cutting/Sanding away of the Shoulder inner-Recesses of the AZ02 Bust Shells.

This Allows you to Seat the Arm Parts Together Tighter, and the Shoulder Joints Deeper into the Bust/Upper Torso,

Giving a more Petite-Shouldered, Better-Proportioned Overall Appearance

to the otherwise Broad-Shouldered, Excessively-Long-Armed AZONE AZ02 Body...

I try not to be overly ambitious with my new years doll resolutions, but there are a few I think I could reasonably do before 2027:

  • Do more faceups on dolls I already have! I have a ton of doll heads in storage waiting to be painted, more than enough to entertain me all year even without any new acquisitions. I also have a handful of dolls with old faceups that are cracking and chipping from poor faceup materials/techniques that could use a refresh.
  • Keep improving at styling wigs! I've gotten a lot more comfortable with heat, so now it's a matter of practicing and finding a technique that works.
  • Attend local doll meetups! There's a local doll club I've been tempted to join for years-- not this type of anime doll or even resin BJDs, but I like just being around other doll people and seeing dolls I'm not familiar with.
  • Get more clothes for my ~60cm boys that actually fits! 🥲 I have a million different outfits and pieces for my MDDs but my DDB has like 2 outfits...
  • Finally get around to filming a full doll room tour/collection overview video for Youtube! This is a long time coming... I haven't filmed a video in ages, and people have been asking for this for literal years. It will probably be a fun video once I finally get my ass in gear enough to make it.

For 2026, I have a few goals!

  • Finalize my dolls outfits and wigs (I temporarily stepped back for a bit because I try and only focus on one hobby at a time, but I'm really wanting to get my girls all set this year!) Most of my girls just have temporary wigs on, or wigs I've been too intimidated to cut haha
  • Take more photos! I've really missed photographing my dolls
  • Get a body for my last floating head
  • Finally build my diorama! if anyone has any advice on materials they've used in the past, I'd love to hear them!
  • Connect with more people, whether irl or online! I definitely want to talk with more people about the hobby 😭 I'd also like to start posing here more!
  • Learn to sew! I recently obtained a sewing machine and it's just been sitting in storage, 2026 is going to be my year to commit to it! 😤

My goals for 2026: (subject to change)

  • Get a MDD Mochiashi!!! I've been wanting one for a while now and just haven't gone for it, so I really want to try getting one this year. And probably a regular MDD, too.
  • Get an AP, either just the head or full doll if possible. I have a few heads I really like (J and G especially), so I've been keeping my eye out for them!
  • Be more active in the hobby/community because it's been a long time 🤭
  • Learn how to do stuff...make wigs, do faceups, sew clothes...
  • The biggest one: get my dolls out of storage!!! They've been trapped in darkness for like 2-3 years now, they need freedom!
